October 30th, 2014 12:15 PM #1321Whats your car boss?
Ive seen an innova with a shallow mount 10" sub under the passenger's seat.
Honda City with 8-10" sub under the rear passenger seat.
Hanap ka lang ng shallow mount sub or "thin profiles" na di masyadong mahaba ang xmax
There are compromises pero tonality is spot on. sure beats those amplified plug and play subs and bass shakers in the market.

October 30th, 2014 01:08 PM #1322if you want a not so expensive car audio setup try ryan audio at banawe from speakers to amplifiers all same brand and you can audition it at their store. i got mine 6 years ago and up to now it is still in my car honda city. i got from them 4 channel amp, 2 way separates and the sub sealed. front left and right amp channel separates are connected. rear l & r channel my sub speaker is connected no need to buy a powered sub speaker. setup is for sound quality. my headunit sony dvd single din from raon around 3k only with usb and sd slot + spl parametric equalizer balance the tone of my sub and separates speakers.life time free service pa kaya lang di mo naman need na yan basta tama ang kabit at wala short circuit sila naman magkabit

I'll just share my setup where it is currently being done by phases. As of now, my craving of adding a sub has been minimized after doing the following:
1. Upgrading the front speakers to a set of speaker separates that is known to have a good midbass response(ie. Morel Tempo 6, DLS RM6.2/UP6i, Focal PS165FX etc).
2. Install a warm sounding amp(Audison, Genesis, DLS etc.)
3. Get deadening right(multiple layers and cover the holes)
4. Add a processor(beef up the sinewave on the lower end)
Really happy with the outcome. A sub will boost the lower end presence, but I am satisfied with the bass I am hearing right now on this space saving setup.

October 30th, 2014 10:24 PM #1325I got an entry level jbl package ( front seps, rear co axial, jbl 4 channel amp and an unknown powered underseat subwoofer 10 inch, cables, splitters, etc) for my jazz from LA autocars for 30k. Placed this in my jazz. Am very happy. Trunk was untouched and the space is intact. Its good enough for me. Much better sounding than stock. The stock jazz headunit has no rca output so installation was a bit tricky and the sound isnt really optimized. But it sounds a hell of a lot better. I might get that underseat subwoofer for my trailblazer and lc200 to fill in the bass.

Unless your choice of tracks are dubstep music with drastic bass drops, you don't really need subwoofers in a car.
What you do need is good tuning options so that your front speakers is optimized. The simple removal of the 80hz filter to an head unit set 50hz is enough bass extension for most people.

sometimes when we'd like to have bass, all we need is a tweeter
it sounds crazy but it was discussed in wiredstate where sir hansen mentioned:
"The distinct sound and timbre of "bass" instruments as we know it - be it different sized drums, organs, bass guitars, synths etc are not purely bass frequencies but have significant amount of midrange and treble frequency content. It does not increase bass quantity per se but it does increase bass articulation, clarity and intelligibility because the added treble results to a more accurate recreation of bass timbre."

November 1st, 2014 03:41 AM #1330hello, i'm using a mitsu gsr at the moment and planning to setup my audio.
I' ve started by upgrading the hu to Pioneer deh-155MP w/c is a entry level. all other are stock. given 12k budget mas maganda bang bumili na lang ako ng branded seperates like jbl (GTO 609C) then save ung sukli or i pang upgrade nlang ng HU ung sukli.
(ba may iba pa pala kayo recomendation sa seperates and pati HU na rin)
Reason i want a new HU is kasi 1 pre out lang un akin, much better daw kung dalawa.
thinking of an alpine cde 142e. or a HU in 6k price range..
I'M into edm at the moment like hardwell and armin, minsan rnb or anything with full of energy.
sa mickeys pala ako nag base ng price.
