September 21st, 2014 02:01 AM #1254Sorry if makulit na but i have another question
Would it be possible to do a loud and clear set up together with sq ?
I was planning on doing it with a processor since the audison processors have presets
Preset 1 - front full active only with sub
Preset 2 - front full active, sub and rear 3 ways/coaxials

Wow, this is going to be a lot of quoted replies.
First thing you need to note is where will you get the passive crossover for the midrange-midbass? At what frequency? Since these types of crossovers are rare. Of course, if you will be using your HSK's passives, take note of its cutoff frequency.
Your problem there is one thing: it's hard to tune.
As for the installation, it's all about trade-offs. If you want the midrange to be in the kick panel. Obvious benefits will be the increase in enclosure space which means you're more power-efficient and because kick panels are great in path length distances (length of speaker to listener) then you have a deeper soundstage theoretically. However, its trade-offs include quite a lowered staging - even if you tune it well, you'd still be lower than your A-pillar installation due to physics.
When you talk about ideals, you're trading off stage height for depth. Which is more important? That's up to your taste. For me, I'm particular about my stage height more than my depth as most recordings do not have any depth in them.
IMO, if you'll be doing semi-active. Do it (tweeter-midrange) + (midbass). Why? Because if you mount it on tweeter and midrange on the A-pillars while you're on your passives, then tuning is a breeze since time alignment between those two drivers are not far. You then time align your midbass separately.

These are most possibly the same models. Walang newer or older.
Why?
Because there's no "fixed" standard when it comes to testing RMS and frequency response unless it's CEA certified. You can throw any number you like there as long as it's sensible to people.
I always said that RMS is a poor indicator of a driver's power needs. What it just tells you is how much power the driver can be fed sustainably for a long time. The difference between 75W and 90W is smaller than you think it is. In fact, to most people, the difference cannot be distinguished. Remember, power and volume scales exponentially. It's not a simple addition or multiplication.
For the speakers, 75W is more than enough but if you can get 100W, why not?
For the subwoofers, 150W is enough but if you can get 300W, why not?
Actually, for the subwoofer.. it's more of a matter of enclosure on how much power you need. Big enclosure = less power you need. Small enclosure = more power you need. In other words, I can throw your Primo in a small box, feed it 300W of power.. and a Primo thrown in a big box with 150W may still be louder than you.

You cannot have two setups in one system. This is because those categories are distinct to each other. However, you can have two systems in a car. Gets?
When I say distinct.. this is because contradictory ang settings ng dalawa. For example, in SQ you want your amplifier gains as low as it is permitted. This is to reduce your noise floor. Sa LnC naman you want those gains to be just before clipping para malakas ang isisigaw.
A great example of two systems in one car is Stephen's (drivensteven) Montero "Karty" that you can search in this car audio section of the boards. Karty is a SQ + 5.1 multimedia setup having two systems (and two head units) in one car. He can do both SQ AND LnC. Although his LnC is arguably less in the decibel meter compared to dedicated LnC machines.

Before I thought this wasn't possible, but upon hearing StageA's(from KAC and Pinoydvd) setup, it is. He uses a 15" sub on a sealed enclosure to make this happen. He has a switch that turns on or off his coaxials from his trunk to convert his setup to an LNC.
Don't get me started with his car's SQ. Probably the best sounding car I have ever heard.
