Scary naman ang news, try foreseeing what might happen. For someone like me who doesn’t know much about cars but pretty interested to get one, ofcourse I want to have security while riding or driving my car. . Someone can’t just simply say do this or do that. I agree this shouldn’t be happening di ba. Toyota been on the service for quite sometime and they should value not only their old time customers but also the new ones.
I was never been a big fan of Toyota since we don’t own got any of their product although I was so amazed when with their grandia gl its superb

Now the Prius is included?

TOKYO (AP) -- Toyota Motor Corp. has been hit by over 100 complaints in the U.S. and Japan about brake problems with the popular Prius hybrid, the latest in a spate of quality troubles for the automaker as it grapples with massive global recalls.

Why do I get the feeling that the US goverment is out to destroy Toyota and kick them out of the US market. We know to whose benefit is it for...

Washington is considering slapping a fine on Toyota after the giant Japanese car maker was forced to recall millions of cars and trucks due to defective accelerator pedals, a US official said on Tuesday.
Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood inadvertently frightened many Toyota owners early Wednesday morning when he said, during a hearing on Capitol Hill, that any owner of a car affected by the recall should "stop driving it and take it to a dealer."

LaHood later corrected himself, saying that he only meant that owners should get their cars fixed as soon as possible. But the comment had already been widely reported by then.

Dear Sirs:

The Obama administration is merely riding on this issue in order to distract people's attention from their mis-handling of the US economy. Toyota is simply a convenient scapegoat.

This does not excuse or exempt Toyota from having to address this issue. They must own up to it -

1) i.e. ADMIT that they made a mistake, AND
2) CORRECT the error.

The cry of persecution by the US government sounds like our local politician's defense - that when they are being attacked it is purely out of politics. It is the kind of excuse that our local car dealers would come up with.

The whole thing is a crude and vulgar attempt to EVADE RESPONSIBILITY.

Do NOT let yourselves be fooled - statistically insignificant... for whom? - those who died? Watch Fight Club and you'll see - the hero is an insurance adjuster for a car company.

Let us be frank - there should be ZERO TOLERANCE for all causes of these accidents, NO EXCUSES should be tolerated.

We are after all talking about people's lives, aren't we?

Sincerely

Dusky Lim

Design problems and now with Prius brakes.

Propaganda ba against Toyota ito e samantalang Toyota Japan na nga ang umamin?

Alin pa kaya ang me "design" problem sa Toyota? Parang russian roulette. Sana lumang Toyota vehicles e walang ganito.

Though USDM Toyota has been so hardly hit by problems, sales will not jump in the ford's backyard. Neither in GM's or Chrysler's. They will get a percent of the sales supposedly for Toyota but not the huge chunk.

It has been on the studies that:
1) Younger buyers
2) Affluent people
3) Educated people
- all prefer Japanese cars more than domestic ones, namely Toyota, Honda, then Nissan.

Because of that, Honda and Nissan will be the 'beneficiaries' of Toyota's mishap. And it is showing in Honda and Nissan's dealerships.

IMO the biggest benefactor here is not even Honda. Probably Nissan, pero I think its Hyundai! They are gaining a lot of momentum state-side...
