May 1st, 2014 12:47 AM #1013Tinangal ko yung fuse then in off ko sa setting ng headunit. Nagpawiring ako along banawe. To update lang nakita ko na culprit. Nagtrace ako ng mga wires to check polarity and kung tama pinagkabitan at ayun may mali sa polarity ng subwoofer to amplifier. So far di siya namamatay.

Easy. You aren't tuning it well.
Your head unit isn't capable and you don't have much channels to take advantage of it.
And from my opinion, you splurged too much on the subwoofer.

May 3rd, 2014 08:29 PM #1019Question guys. Sinu-sino po naka-underseat or bazooka type na active subwoofer dito? I was planning to buy one, pero i need your input kung alin sa dalawa ang maganda. Gusto ko lang naman po na may konting BASS yung mga songs ko from 2650ui. TY sa mga sasagot po.
Requirements ko po eh, may remote to control yung bass response niya mapa, unerseat or sa trunk.

Pardon on my last post. I was kinda tired when I made that and my thoughts were jumbled haha.. looking at it right now makes me sad since naooffend ako sa sarili kong post
here's a more extensive reply.
Actually mahirap magpost oz.. since I'm not too sure on what you're aiming for nor what are your standards.
First thing I need to clarify is your standards. Are you trying to achieve the true "SQ" that has good tonality, staging, and imaging? Have you heard of one?
If not, I suggest you try finding one to hear. It will turn your idea of great sound quality around. You already have the gears for it so you just to re-wire some stuff, throw in an external processor and find a person to tune it.
Second is I want to know who your installer is because it gives me an idea on whether how experienced the installer is or not if I will try to recommend processors.
But let's try to solve your current problem muna.
By "kulang yun fronts", that will mean one thing: The front isn't loud enough.
The easiest way on how to solve this is to dial your subwoofer down because your front is being overpowered by your subwoofer. You can do this via your head unit (subwoofer level) or via your amplifier (gain control).
You might want to also experiment lowering the crossover for the mono amplifier. Setting it to something like 63hz will lessen your subwoofer's reach into the midbass and should give you a more prominent midbass which in turn enhances the front stage.
Your subwoofer performance is largely dictated by your box rather than the power you throw it ;) Even when I juke it out heavily, I'm using less than 500W of power and my box isn't that big either (1.1cu.ft volume). I know of this due to my fuse which is at 40A (40x12 = 480W).
Hell, I usually tell people that if you're geared towards "SQ", you won't really eat more than 400W unless you built yourself one heck of an inefficient enclosure.
For the processor choices, since you're just doing a 2-way setup.. something like the Mosconi 4to6 and the Audison BitTen will suffice which is at the 16,000php price range. No need to go into the 30 grand price range ;)
If you plan on going for the processors, ask your installer first which processor is he comfortable in using. I will also be recommending a manual tuning processor and the MS8 because... well, it's promise of auto-tuning is incredible.. but it's not something I will recommend for people looking for a plug-and-play solution. It kinda needs some "work" for it to sound great.Last edited by jhnkvn; May 4th, 2014 at 02:51 AM.
