Mickey's 4.8k quote is probably of StandartPlast Silver (StP - Home) which is an internationally known sound damping and deadening company founded in Russia.

Brand name power lang yan. For a more accurate quote, it's best to ask how much do they sell their sheets. That way, alam mo yun price difference of the material (sheets) and labor and this could give you a better negotiating leverage.

I don't usually discriminate on deadening. Habol mo naman dyan is mass -- the brand name? Not to much unless you're willing to spend extra. I do appreciate my StP's easy-installation process though and they use higher grade butyl (yep, meron din yan quality grades) for their products so if you're competing, these are usually justifiable expenses. If not, stick with the OEM mass market butyl ones.

    Hi sirs,

ask lang po ako about my planned set up newbie pa lang po ako so not really sure if good enough na po tong mga planned specs ko.

I've got a 2014 avanza 1.3j, I'm planning to upgrade the speakers currently it has only front stock.

Front and Back speakers would be 2way coaxials contemplating on pioneer, sony, jbl brands. these will be hooked up to my head unit

I will stick with my HU as it already has usb and aux and preouts at the back. Based on specsheet it has 18w rms.

    For subwoofer im contemplating on

1 Kicker comp 12" then house it in a 2.27 cu ft ported box based n kicker comp manual.

    -or-

    1 jbl gt5-1204br loaded enclosure.

amp for subs would be sound magus dk600.

Im willing to shell out around 20kish for the set up. I only want a decent sound system with a good bump in the bass.

    questions...

    1. will the hu be enough to power 4 coaxials? im seeing 40-50watts rms for each speaker based on the brands mentioned above

    2. is sound magus dk600 a good amp for my kicker or jbl?
    3. which of the two is better kicker or the jbl?

by the way i'm from cebu and we don't have much shops to go to with car audio. if you guys have other suggestions i will have to check for availability.

    *sleep,
    1. Yes it will be enough but chances are the loud volume of the subs might over power the sound from the coaxials.
    2. Yes
    3. The JBL subs.

I suggest get a 4 channel amp. to power 1 set of either coaxials or components for the front and a sub on the rear. No need to add speakers on the rear.

audio set-up for beginners [continued]
