(OK, I will use only One good clamp both sides)

I'll check the copper gasket, maybe it's sucking more air instead of fuel. Also, check the flat sealing surface of the banjo fitting.

I will correct the air suction before doing the injector calibration. Good.

( I told the mechanic to adjust the timing and try to advance a little bit but he dont want to, for what reason I do not know. He probably doesn't know how to properly time the injection pump, and/or he doesn't have the necessary tool/s. (maybe)

I will rotate the injector and make it advance firing a little bit. The correct procedure is to time the pump according to specs, as this will assure you of optimal power and fuel economy. Mahal na diesel, di bah? (yes your right, let me have it adjusted by a reliable mechanic)

Engine does smoke but not so dark, it's more like grayish but not white. Does engine smoke at low idle, or during acceleration only?
During idle very small/less smoke, if I accelerate then starts to smoke dark gray but after a while in continuos high acceleration the smoke becomes less.

Diesels don't normally smoke at low idle. Check timimg.

    Keep us posted.

sir dieseldude, good day, I had my pajero serviced at central diesel clinic a few years back and its still doing great, pag may question sa pajero gen 2.5 calibration parati kong suggest to go to your shop, sip sip ba? I was wondering if you could shed some light sa problems ng 4m40 injection pump namin, usually we experience hard starting sa umaga lang then papalya siya, then restart 3 to 4 times uli ganun parin, but pag uminit na wala na kaming problems, no balck smoke, power is still very good and fuel economy is still normal, naglalaro kasi sa mind ng owners bakit calibration agad ang solution despite pag uminit siya ok naman na, can you please help shed some light kung aling parts ang nagcacause ng hardstaring and namamatayan sa umaga? and what can we do to prevent this? or is it just normal wear and tear. sa akin kasi 70k palang nagloko na, and so far ive done 35k na, so malapit na uli ako bumalik sa inyo. normal wear and tear lang ba to? kasi yung 4d56 na l300 delivery namin has already done 200k and hindi pa napapacalibrate. no problems pa so far.

question 2 sir, meron ba kinalaman ang calibration sa shifting ng auto tranny? may isang member (larshell) kasi na may delayed shifting na nangayari after niya pacalibrate. can you confirm this sir? post ko yung reply niyo sir sa gen 2.5 threads, or even better baka pwede niyo dalawin yung thread namin, thank you sir, and more customers to central diesel clinic,

This is a common problem on 4M40 injection pumps. Failure is in the drive shaft, drive shaft bushings, and oil seal, allowing air to enter the pump when engine is shut down for a few hours. Pump has to be repaired and calibrated, no other way.

question 2 sir, meron ba kinalaman ang calibration sa shifting ng auto tranny? Yes.

This is a black 3 wire variable resistor which controls transmission shift point. Electronic adjustment is performed while the injection pump is on the test stand.

Thank you sir diesel dude for the quick reply, I copied your answer sa kabilang thread, does this mean we can opt not to replace the nozzle tips when this happens? Yes. Morning hard start is most often not related to nozzle wear.

Since the problem is the driveshaft, sorrry sir newbie sa injection pump, what causes driveshaft failure? I consider this as normal wear. We do an improvement on this area everytime this pump type comes in for service; and we have been very successful in improving the pump's service life.

Sa diesel qulaity ba or the way we drive? No and niether....
