June 8th, 2008 01:32 PM #321I can't say anything good or bad about Liqui Moly or other brands as I haven't tried using any. If you want to try it out, just make sure that it's a diesel injector cleaner, and not a petrol injector cleaner. And I suggest these:
- Replace and invest on an original Mits air filter
- Check tire pressures and remove any unnecessary weights from your car
- Fill up with clean diesel only, then log your consumption, exhaust quality, and power
- Fill up with clean diesel, add injector cleaner in the proper ratio, then log data as you previously did
- Then post your experience in this thread. This will be a great help to fellow Tsikoters.

July 10th, 2008 12:27 AM #324Hi Eric,
This is not the correct forum but I will try to help you.
i need your help...

1) para saan po ba yung O/D..?
O/D stands for overdrive, which is your transmission's last gear. With O/D on, your transmission will shift up to the last gear at the proper speed and load. With O/D off, your top gear will be one gear down from maximum. O/D on is normally used on highway driving, and O/D off for city driving.
2) para saan po ba yung ETC..?
ECT stands for electronically controlled transmission. I read on some posts that with ECT on, the transmission is controlled to remain longer on the lower gears before upshifting. This prevents premature wear on the the transmission if it upshifts and/or downshifts too often due to adverse road conditions.
3) may settings po ba na pwedeng baguhin pa magshift-up ng mas maaga yung matic..? Try ECT off.
thanks in advance...

You can try Tsikot's transmission forum under workshops. You may be able to find more answers to your questions.

July 20th, 2008 01:05 PM #325Hi Guys,
With the high cost of fuel, let's get our heads together and contribute our ideas on how we can all save. Suggested topics are technical, practical, and absurd. One idea per topic is ideal so that others can have their chance to share their thoughts.
So here goes:
TECHNICAL: Let's keep our car in tip-top shape. Perform regular tune-ups and service.
PRACTICAL: Remove unnecessary clutter from our car as this is deadload on our engine.
ABSURD: Sell your car. Buy a motorcycle, scooter, bicycle, skateboard, or roller skates. Pwede rin tayo mag walking nalang.
Let's have fun while saving!!!!

Technical: Remove your roofrack when its not in use to lessen wind resistance and weight.
Practical: Avoid running with a full tank to lessen vehicle weight, unless there will be another 3peso increase soon.
Absurd: In nearing an insersection, try to maintain momentum without hitting the brake and the car in front of you until you have green light. Glide!

August 7th, 2008 04:32 AM #327could you also help me with this pls?
i have a 1994 isuzu trooper (4JG2 engine) and i had the engine rebuilt 5 mos. ago. i have a problem with OIL & FUEL consumption.
With regards to the oil problem, i noticed that the turbo has a lot of oil in it. some mechanics told me that they'll redirect the breather hose to the dipstick so that it wouldnt waste oil.. but is this really goin' to solve the problem?
also with the excessive fuel consumption, i just had it calibrated too, nozzle tips were also replaced but it still consumes around 3-5 kms/liter. what are the causes, and wht should i do? pls. help..tnx

What did you replace when you did the engine rebuilt?
Original ba air filter mo?
Na break in mo ba ng mabuti?
Ako nag overhaul din ako last Sept at 77.4 liters I can do 829 kilometers. I have a 4JG2-TC non EFI manual transmission engine.
Ang injection pump ba ang ni calibrate or nozzles or both? Saan ka nag pa calibrate?
