    Planned Setup:

    Pioneer 2750BT
    Focal ISS 165

Currently I have a V12 (yes, V12 MRV-1507) = http://i.imgur.com/hgYLngS.png .. Planning to TEMPORARILY drive the Focal with this OR Get an AMP with a budget of 6k. (May makukuha na ba akong mas magandang AMP dito?)

    Thanks Tsikot!

for 6k, there are fairly good 4-channel amps on that budget The JBL GT5 and GX. For 2 channel, there is the RF Prime R150-2. Kicker EX150.2 and Polk Audio - PA 330.

What is nice about Focal is it's very easy to drive. Among the choices given, I'd probably lean towards the RF Prime, since RF always gives me an impression that it is warm sounding, and it should match the assertive character Focal has.

If you plan on upgrading, why not just have the speakers be head-unit powered until you shore up more funds for a decent amplifier upgrade? I'd say 8K is a good ballpark figure to start with.

What's your "usual" shops. Powered subwoofers are kinda common as long as you aren't brand conscious (which you shouldn't be given that it's a powered budget subwoofer)

    Good day to all, gents!

I have been itching to upgrade my system. Currently the components installed are the following:

    HU: Pioneer 1650dvd
    DSP: Mosconi 4 to 6
    Amp: PPI Sedona 580.5
Seps: Focal PS 165v running full active
    Subs: Polk MM1040

At the moment, I am inclined of replacing my amp with an audison sr5. With regards to the HU, I am leaning towards to 5750bt rather than 8750bt. The price difference of 12k for flac playback is too much for me.

Question: Is changing the head unit from 1650dvd to 5750bt a smart choice? In terms of SQ, is it a night and day difference given that I have a dsp? I agree with the garbage in - garbage out statement but would like to know if difference in SQ is noticeable.

^^^I suggest you get an Alpine HU instead of Pioneer. Back when I got hit by the car audio bug, common Alpine units proved to provide better outputs compared to common Pioneer units. If you can get something like true-blue SQ units (like the oldie Clarion HX-D2 or Denon or Nakamichi units), that would surely be an upgrade over your current unit in terms of signal output. Regarding the amp, I have not heard a system powered by the Audison SR5 but I have nothing but praise for the DLS A7. Since Marikina area mo, go drop by Mickey's shop. I used to take the long trip from Sucat just to get audio stuff from Mickey's.

Only God knows what components can be bought for 1.5M. Hehehehe....

I don't go to Mickey without a component in mind to buy. Going there with nothing in mind to buy is very dangerous as you might yourself going home with an upgraded audio component. hahahaha

No. What your head unit is doing right now is acting like a transport with a bit of flavor enhancement (the signal passes through the Pioneer's chipset first before it passes through the Mosconi). Given that you do not need additional features a better head unit has (Bluetooth, etc.), I will not recommend you upgrade. Isa lang kilangan mo itanong -- does the HU give a flat signal to the DSP? If yes, that is usually all that matters.

If you were to expand your choices towards secondhand goodies, you might get something better in value. Amplifiers is something I recommend purchasing secondhand. In fact, my home audio amplifier hails back to 1995 while my car audio is from 2003.
