You may be triggering the amp's protection circuit. May subwoofer ka, i assume? Anong impedance nung sub?

Sori sir noob ako sa electronic terms eh. Please advise na lang kung ano dapat ko gawin or ano dapat ko install.
I am using a generic amplifier 4000watts connected to a 12 inches JBL Sub.

By the way shameless plug to toyota altis 11th gen owners theres a new pioneer avh xl5750bt its 200mm wider than normal avh units so no more need for the spacers mas stock looking downside is its pricier by a few thousands than the regular 5750.

Hi, I'm a complete noob when it comes to aftermarket audio systems. However, I need to use up 10k worth of casa accessories for the car I'm buying, and I took interest in the AVT ISW-8500, an 8.5" powered under-seat sub.

I read about these small active subs and while they don't make a big difference, it's still noticeable vs a completely stock setup - it's free anyway so why not. However, my SA called me today and said that the Altis HU has no sub out, and they will have to splice existing wires to install the subwoofer.

From my understanding, that's like using a 2-channel stereo setup and trying to make it sound like a 2.1. However, since there isn't a dedicated sub out, the sound data that will be sent out to the sub will be the same as what's sent out to the speakers - effectively making it a 7th speaker instead of a dedicated sub. So I won't really be getting the bass boost I was looking for.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, as I currently have the installation of the sub on hold until I have a better understanding of the implications of the setup. Thanks!

First of all dapat pinasa nang SA mo yun fon sa tao na nag iinstall niyan, hehe!
It's like this, your HU has a front and rear stereo signal output. If you will install the active subs, you simply use the REAR signal output of the HU, with the expense of not using the rear speakers. If you do it this way you can now somehow make use of the fader of the HU, to control the volume of the active subs. If you still want to make use of your Rear speakers, simply tap the wire to the front speakers. Usually naman ang mga oem speakers are 4ohms, wire them in parallel and you have now have a 2ohm impedance on the speakers which the oem HU can handle. But IMO, If I was in your situation, I would disregard the use of the rear speakers. You have better sound stage if all the sound of the speakers are coming from the front.
