You'll be happy to know most of the guys designing in this forum agree with many of your points. Sana makasama ka sa Grand EB. Usap tayo dun!

October 29th, 2007 11:38 PM #974ngayon ko lang nakita yung mga news reports on the PHuV via youtube...
They said that the engine and transmission are from China.
Di ba we are making the transmission of Toyota and Honda na here in the Philippines? Cant we use those instead?
Also, Ford is putting up a flex engine plant here. Can we use a Ford engine na gawa sa Pilipinas na rin, para 100% Filipino na talaga siya?
Lastly, can we buy this thing in body and chassis configuration lang? Then Il install my own brand new Mitsubishi or Isuzu diesel engine? I dont really trust the chinese engine yet.

AC, sayang di tayo nagkita sa Grand EB. Next one na lang.
anyways...
meron po ako design.. upload ko din..
its called super kuliglig..
...
joke lang po ha..
baka seryosohin :D
since your super kuliglig is a concept - even if it is a joke - we had to move it to the Innovative/Concept Cars thread.OT itong kuliglig dito, kasi this thread is strictly for the Tsikot PhUV.

Hi webmiester. This thread is about the Tsikot PhUV. Your questions are about the MVPMAP PhUV. Therefore, we are copying your message to the MVPMAP PhUV statement thread. Hopefully, they might see your inquiry and post a reply. As far as we know, MVPMAP has temporarily suspended its PhUV program in favor of the e-Jeepney. Maybe they are studying your concerns already.
Meanwhile, be assured your excellent idea  will be taken into consideration by the Tsikot PhUV design team. We still have a long way to go, and suggestions like yours are always helpful.DESIGN is the missing link in the Philippine auto industry.

November 5th, 2007 11:18 PM #977
The problem exists in the price. Porsche, and other small european car makers are profit engines because their cars are more expensive than mass produced vehicles. In europe, hand made vehicles are given respect and are priced higher. In the Philippines, Philippine hand made vehicles are not well respected and have LOWER selling prices. In the jeepneys for instance, manufacturers earn as little as P20k per jeepney. That's not much considering the amount of work and craftmanship placed into each vehicle. It'll also mean that R&D suffers kaya we often end up having the same old technology in our vehicles.

November 5th, 2007 11:28 PM #978Thanks so much. I know we all want the 100% Brand New Philippine Made Car
Of course things are more complicated than just putting all Phlippine made parts together, and I can recognize these. Toyota and Honda might not be willing to contribute to the project, or their transmission will be incompatible with the Ford engine. I also heard that we make brake systems here, but they might not be a member of MVPMAP or Tsikot, and so forth.
Its a dream. I hope itl come true soon. I guess that's where the government can intervene. They can allow Ford, Toyota and Honda tax breaks for joining the MVPMAP or Tsikot program and things like that. Its sad that we arent able to pursuade our government to do things like that yet.
I guess on the government thingee - that's yet another dream ild like to see come true someday soon.
Also, I think the MVPMAP feedback thread was closed down kaya di na ko makapagcontribute doon. Sorry I placed it here instead. MOD, why can't I open a new thread in this category? I can do so in other categories, but in this one Im told that Im not authorized to do so. Thanks so much.

What was closed was the MVPMAP PhUV Feedback thread. But the MVPMAP Statement thread is still open for any remaining comments on MVPMAP's PhUV program. We also have a poll thread - Tsikoteers Redesign MVPMAP PhUV - on the three redesigns submitted to them.
Any new thread on MVPMAP would be highly speculative, since MVPMAP doesn't seem to be presently in the mood to respond to any of our posts. I guess MVPMAP learned that it is wiser to lay low and work quietly while they develop their product(s) before they launch anything. They have partnered with Greenpeace for the e-Jeepney, and so let's leave it at that. I think we at Tsikot should respect their business decisions. When they're ready, we'll just read about it in the newspapers.
Perhaps it's better that way, so we can focus on developing Tsikot's PhUV will not get mistaken for the MVPMAP's PhUV. PM me if you have problems opening new threads.Last edited by dprox; November 6th, 2007 at 12:56 AM.

November 12th, 2007 11:18 PM #980We can never please everyone.
I applaude the MVPMAP for launching their product on independance day, whatever good or bad publicity the product came up with. It takes real guts to do that!
I hope we'll have the same guts with our Tsikot PhUV soon.
BTW, does anyone remember the CAP Centenial Car?
It was supposed to be a Phlippine Made Car launched in year 1998 (alongside the centenial celebration of RP). CAP came up with a design competition for it, and the one which won was a small car. I dont know what happened to the car, nor the design which won. I do remember that CAP got into financial trouble though with their educational plans.
