I hope we'll have the same guts with our Tsikot PhUV soon.

BTW, does anyone remember the CAP Centenial Car?

It was supposed to be a Phlippine Made Car launched in year 1998 (alongside the centenial celebration of RP). CAP came up with a design competition for it, and the one which won was a small car. I dont know what happened to the car, nor the design which won. I do remember that CAP got into financial trouble though with their educational plans.

yes i remember, minalas nga lang dahil inabutan ito ng asian financial crisis, bakit ang gobyerno natin walang initiative, yan ang kulang natin kaya tayo napag iiwanan

    Possible things to talk about:

    - Their comments (as professional car designers) about the Tsikot PHUV designs by oyil, ehnriko, donbuggy and foifoi05.
    - Their design for a PHUV with flat panels.
    - What 3d software they use.
    - How they do rapid prototyping.
    - Are they hiring designers?

What this country needs is a Filipino version of a Henry Ford or a Soichiro Honda. Men with vision who built an industrial empire from humble beginnings.

Sarao (Sarao Motors) and Francisco (motors) are almost like these great guys--Ford and HOnda...

But they failed to reinvest whatever they have earned to uplift and improve their products.

At least FMC came up with the Harabas, Pinoy and Anfra but was ravaged by economic downturns and government ineptness...

I hope they can rebuild their firms and adapt new, modern and better technology to cope up with the new market...

Actually, a brick has a lower drag coefficient than the PHUV.

Anyway, if you design all the curves and angles with no way of actually manufacturing those same curves & angles, it would just be a waste of time and money. So if the current manufacturing capability on hand is all flat panels and straight angles, then so be it.

Waste of time, effort, and ability. It would be better used in doing air flow analysis in the radiator and engine bay.

*architect, here's the link to their website:
    http://lagangan-designs.cadcollaboration.com/
Maybe there's a problem with their website, the links don't work.
Their microcar looks interesting though. If they really can produce such a car, I think it would somehow help ease our traffic problems and global warming.
