Let me educate you a bit about Car Culture in case you don't know...

    1. DR. FERDINAND PORSCHE designed the VW Beetle in the 1940's and He also made his first sports car in the early 1950's... it was the first PORSCHE prototype based on the Beetle.

PORSCHE 356, Spyder, Speedsters where designed by an amateur designer... definitely - there were no schools for auto design during those days, yet still today - many collectors consider it one of the most desireable designs.

    2. Ford Model T - was the car that has put America on wheels and has placed America on top of the industrial revolution race... guess again - the Designer is also an amateur designer... Henry Ford is just a Mechanic with a DREAM! (check my source: Napoleon Hills' Law of Success)

    3. Honda S200 or S500 or something... anyways - the earliest Honda Open top sports car was designed by Soichiro Honda... an amateur car designer - with a DREAM!... not really a student of design...
    Add ko rin to

VW kombi design was a sketch of a vehicle staff had built to transport heavy panels around Volkswagen’s Wolfsburg factory, this is the actual concept sketch that led to the first Volkswagen T1 van, famous for its split-windscreen.

The actual design of the kombi

    So professional

amateurs are enthusiasts... (enthusiasts = God within) These are people who burn the midnight oil just to make their dreams a reality... These are the very same people who were the pioneer spirits in shaping your country. If there is anybody more willing to place a bigger stake on any endeavour or project... it is these type of people.

Industrialists normally get these type of people since they have a better vision...

A professional will only be looking at his paycheck and billing receipts... but a dreamer, will go the whole 9 yard to achieve results.

Thats what sepparates the Movers from the Benchwarmers.

i also love drawing cars.. but syempre.. usually not auvs.. hehe...

are all parts going to be bnew? or.. surplus chasis/engine/suspension?

    not to mention..
    mas panget ang finish...
since hindi po siya mass production...
we will be purchasing parts in retail... unlike car plants na in bulk or sometimes sila pa mismo nagmamanufacture...
were better off with low end auv or vans.. like L300s

siguro po magiging mas reasonable.. if we use..surplus chasis/suspension/engine
like yung AMC hammer.. but instead of using an expensive patrol as donor po..
we can use light utility trucks
like sa isuzu elf... canter... etc etc

as a start lang naman po.. if after the 1st project.. u guys think your ready to build a vehicle from ground up? then atleast may experience na...

although i think building it ground up.. especially with those curved windshields po, fancy headlights and ***y fenders would not be cost effective.. kung gagamitin lang po sila as public transport...
for that.. maybe you would like to start a new thread.. siguro.. building a custom tsikot... para hindi sayang yung very nice designs and ideas..

-check the phuv designs submitted to MVPMAP, indeed simple and yet stylist yung tsikot designed PHUV.

-kahit brand new I think the price of the PHUV will still be 50% cheaper than a low end (e.g. L300 FB)utility/commercial van.

--ang phuv is meant to seve the mass transport segment of the philippine market. Im referring to the PUJ (commuter), small cargo (farm to market), commercial (fx), utility (e.g. real estate company tripping vehicle, delivery van, mini-school bus).

    --Private use also.

    ic po..
but... L300 versa van.. diba nasa 700t+ lang?
and i saw a 4d56 engine nakadisplay sa mitsubishi quezon ave. with a price tag of 350t pesos po... and.. mukhang hindi pa kumpleto yun.. its just the engine itself.. wala pa yung.. engine supports.. airfilter case.. exhaust.. alternator.. compressor.. wiper.. wiper motor.. washer motors radiator. evaporator..fans... fanbelts.. idlers pulleys.. glowplugs.. oil filters... fuel filters.. brake systems.. condenser.. and the list goes on po... and katakot takot na labor pa.. i know may discount pa yung mga parts.. like less 10% which is standard.. less 20 wholesale and less30 sa dealer.. but.. i dont think thats enough po..

i think lang po.. na this vehicle is going to be utility.. which means.. dapat ay napaka mura nito.. like siguro less than 300t pesos.. coz.. darating na mga china utility vehicles priced around 400t pesos.. ive seen some units na.. looks nice.. mga chopchop looks.. harap starex.. gilid spacegear fender hilux..
downside is its got a chinamade engine.. na hindi natin alam kung tatagal..
but ang claim nila is.. that their light truck's engine parts are interchangeable with isuzus..

i also like custom vehicles.. but.. due to cost... especially in research and development baka magshort po tayo.

i like your idea.. the dream na makagawa ng sasakyan na magrerevolutionize sa pilipinas.. but.. parang hindi po yata cost effective and plans

ilagay natin sarili natin sa sapatos ng mamimili... kayo ba.. if may budget below 500t.. ay bibili kayo ng.. all around vehicle

    A: phUV
    B: china uv (bnew)
    C: 2nd hand japanese branded AUVs (adventure,revo,hilander)
    D: surplus vans or SUVs
E: others (buy jeep, ph assembled tamaraws, anfra)

hindi naman kailangan na mahal ang makina. basta't matibay, maganda ang spec(yung tipong good for towing jobs) at kasya sa budget. pwedeng, pwede.

-as i said 50% cheaper. price of brand new PHUv quoted at 350,000 basic.

i saw a 4d56 engine nakadisplay sa mitsubishi quezon ave. with a price tag of 350t pesos po... and.. mukhang hindi pa kumpleto yun.. its just the engine itself.. wala pa yung.. engine supports.. airfilter case.. exhaust.. alternator.. compressor.. wiper.. wiper motor.. washer motors radiator. evaporator..fans... fanbelts.. idlers pulleys.. glowplugs.. oil filters... fuel filters.. brake systems.. condenser.. and the list goes on po... and katakot takot na labor pa.. i know may discount pa yung mga parts.. like less 10% which is standard.. less 20 wholesale and less30 sa dealer.. but.. i dont think thats enough po..
Something must be done to break the chain of exploitation.

i think lang po.. na this vehicle is going to be utility.. which means.. dapat ay napaka mura nito.. like siguro less than 300t pesos.. coz.. darating na mga china utility vehicles priced around 400t pesos.. ive seen some units na.. looks nice.. mga chopchop looks.. harap starex.. gilid spacegear fender hilux..

-with all due respect, you want a utility vehicle that is new and multipurpose-you have to pay more that 300,000. I mean baka you are referring to 2nd hand vehicles siguro at hindi brand new.

i also like custom vehicles.. but.. due to cost... especially in research and development baka magshort po tayo. iba po talaga ang mass manufacturing.. nabababa talaga nito ang prices ng malaki.. specially pag may assembly line
-Bakit ang rag-tag native assemblers buhay pa rin ngayon, especially yung taga-Mindanao, Central Visayas, Calabarzon at Pampanga, kasi they were able to manufacture via piecemeal production process. Nasa business plan yan. Sabi nga nung writer na sikat (Schumacher), make you firm small and efficient kasi "Small is Beautiful". May short run and long run production naman e.

i like your idea.. the dream na makagawa ng sasakyan na magrerevolutionize sa pilipinas.. but.. parang hindi po yata cost effective and plans
Indeed, Pinoys should support this dream for SELF-RESPECT AND PRACTICALITY. Una, we have vehicle to call our own, no matter how simple and low tech it is. Di ba sa US, may nagsabi we are nothing but pretenders to be Asians, feeling natin Hapon tayo di naman. We need self respect. And we can start with the PHUV. 2nd, more jobs for pinoys, plus point to our talents, plus point to our economy.

Kasi, our vehicle market is small, pathetic and insignificant. 100,000 vehicles a year? harhar, 60% pa dyan taxi, fleet at commercial use. So ano ang tawag dyan. E di consumer exploitation and manipulation.

Of course. I will not spend 350,000 pesos for a subcompact car na mitsa pa ng buhay ko. Plus all imported. paano piyesa nyan? paano ang maintenance? Kahit i-taxi ko yan.Lugi pa rin. In three years, ala pa sa kalahati ang presyo pag binenta (my friend was compelled to sell his 2006 picanto last month for less than half of its original price because he was sideswiped many times by big vehicles) Yung commercial van mapapamura ka sa mahal. Kaya ba yan bayaran ng ordinaryong pinoy?magkano urban 1million. Grabe kailan mababawi ng operator yun?Tapos, engots pa driver nya, nabangga, nasira. hay...

Dahil ang PHUV ginawa to replace or alternative sa PUJ, AUV at iba pang commercial at utility vehicles. Pangnegosyo.

Emina? Lumina? Trooper? Hi-ace?Pajero?Starex?Pampasada o delivery?sus.

yun iba (jeep, local auv, anfra) ok na ak. very Pinoy. locally made. more jobs for Pinoys. built to last.
