No problem. My 2.0 is 5-6 kph off too. When it's time to change tires, I'll opt for 225/45 vs 215/45. More width although a little taller on the sidewall. Got me thinking if 235/40 is a better match for 18s.

235/40 R18 is okay only if you drop. With stock ride height, it'll look like an XV already hehe.

June 3rd, 2015 12:53 PM #2545That said, navigating 40KM worth of city driving every day for 30 days will kill me.
EDSA end to end is less than 20KM siguro hahaha (and will take about 2 hours every day one way pag rush hour :O)
Yung FD namin does 7.5-8KM/L with an average speed of about 10-15KPH. Not sure what other car figures are for this kind of speed.

I do Taguig to Commonwealth via C5 and vice versa every working day so medyo going against the traffic ako. My 1.5 3 averages 9.5 L/100 km (10.5 km/L) based on the trip computer. When I drove my wife to and from Makati for a week because her car was in the shop it dropped to around 7 km/L which is similar to what her Vios 1.3 AT gets. Traffic is the big equalizer.

The Altis has no hill start assist. If you're on a very steep incline and the nominal torque of the car when in D isn't enough, the car will slide backward. With an automatic, it's very easy to overcome this, just move your foot very quickly from the brake pedal to the accelerator so that you minimize rolling backward.
Unlike with a manual where you have to balance the clutch as well as prod the accelerator quickly upon releasing the brakes.
In either transmission, you can also use the handbrake to keep you from moving backward - keep it slightly engaged until you move forward, and then release the handbrake completely.
