But it's their job anyway so go ahead just so you get your peace of mind.

Mine also does that, 1-2 mins before the rpm goes down to below 1k. Lalo na, I live in Baguio. So I used fully synth oil.

Salamat

May 17th, 2015 10:08 AM #2447my thoughts..
the sensor that measures engine temp during cold starts, raises the idling rpm to over 1000, and gradually lowers it to below 1000 as the engine approaches working temp. i may be wrong, but i think it measures engine block temp and not oil or water temp.
once the engine has run that day, in the tropics, it remains naturally warmer than when initially started in the morning. that is why, subsequent starts that day, have a much shorter warm-up time.
in my experience, the first time i start my engine in the morning, it takes about 2-4 minutes, depending on what engine i have. on subsequent starts that day, the idling rpm settles down much faster, say, as fast as 30 sec.
i don't think the type of oil being used, significantly changes this warm-up period.Last edited by dr. d; May 17th, 2015 at 10:10 AM.

Check other dealers po, or kulitin mo na agent mo.
