Total and Seaoil roll back fuel, increase price of LPG
Posted on May 13, 2011 07:03:33 PM
Total (Philippines), Inc. and Seaoil Philippines, Inc. will roll back prices of its fuel products but increase prices of cooking gas on Saturday.
Both companies said it will decrease prices of diesel by P2 per liter, kerosene and unleaded gasoline by P1.50/liter and regular gasoline by P1/liter.
They will, however, increase prices of liquefied petroleum gas by P1 per kilogram.
Monitoring from the Department of Energy (DoE) from last week showed diesel prices ranged from P46.75/liter to P48.75/liter with a common price of P48.20/liter. Gasoline prices ranged from P55.35/liter to P61.62/liter with a common price of P58.35/liter.
This is only the fifth price decrease since the start of the year compared to the 14 pump price increases. Gasoline prices have now increased to a total of P9.75/liter with the recent rollback while diesel prices have increased P7.45/liter.
Cooking gas prices on the other hand have risen seven times and rolled back twice since the start of the year.
The Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers’ Association (LPGMA) decreased prices earlier this week.
Contract prices of LPG at the beginning of the month were at $980 per metric ton.
Prices of cooking gas have increased P5.50/kg since the start of the year.
