so that was the reason why the Muslim insurgency in Mindanao had taken its root, right?

jabidah was the name of the unit of more or less 160 tausug who were trained secretly by the military in order to sow terror in sabah. the objective then was to annex sabah. but when they knew the plan they mutinied against their handlers because it would mean they would be fighting against their brother muslims in sabah. they were all massacred except for one survivor who lived to tell the tale.
and that moved nur misuari who was then political science professor at Diliman to rise against the government and led to his founding of the mnlf.

you maybe right but if we look at it closely, it is mainly the reason why saf44 died. the question is relevant. do we need another saf44 to die there to drive home the point. so how do we solve the problem? para may kabuluhan na man yung pagkamatay nila.

I think we can learn a thing or two how the Sri Lankan government ended the insurgency in their land.

Dalawang paraan lang ang pwedeng gawin para ma solve ang insurgency problem sa Mindanao.

    1. Crush them.
    2. Give Mindanao and Palawan to them.

    education.
    roads.
    civilization.
    good old honesty.
treat them better than how the american injuns were treated.

the pilipinos were not so happy with the spaniards' 300 years, nor the japanese's 4 years.
but why did many filipinos find the americans' 40 years "gratifying"? heck, we were willing to die for them during the wars...

How do these rebel groups finance their operation? I'm sure they get donations from other organizations around the world, aside from doing illegal activitiies locally. Sa sri lanka I think they undertook an all out offensive against the tamil tigers and cut off their funding with the help of the international community. They ended the insurgency. To think the Tamil tigers are more numerous, better armed and organized than these rebel groups. Ambivalent lang din ako sa total war dahil sa human cost e.
