dati kaya wala masyado worries sa metro manila nung meron mga natural phenomenons like yung 1990 earthquake and 1991 volcano pinatubo eh = wala pa internet. Wala pa social media. Puro usapan kapitbahay lang nagbobolahan.

nung may ashfall dati eh hindi uso face mask puro panyo lang. Papunta ako mall nun nagaash kasama parents ko. Sa narerecall ko nun madami nagka sore eyes. Pero walang panic.

Mas malaki pa effect sa akin ng earthquake kasi nasa tutor ako nun. Kabadong-kabado yung filipino teacher namin eh kinancel na tutoring uwian na daw. As in wipe out yung hall ubos mga filipino tutors naguwian.

Ang malupit yung chinese tutors kasi pag tapos lindol eh balik ulit sa classroom business as usual. Pag dating ng parents ko tawa ng tawa mama ko kasi sulit daw binayad.

Base sa map mo ang lapit ng fissure zone sa Tagaytay. Kung magka major eruption as predicted by Phivolcs and the fissure zone collapses, pwedeng bumagsak yung buong Tagaytay ridge.

Ang main concern ko lang kapag may ash fall ay ang paglalaba. Meron naman bubong sampayan namin kaso yung alikabok di na talaga mapigilan.. The rest gagawan na lang ng paraan.. Makakapag adjust naman kapag andyan na..
Kapag ok sitwasyon sa mga bahay natin.. Then make it a point na makatulong kung kaya dun sa maaapektuhan. Makakapag survive naman tayo. Let's not underestimate our capabilities to survive kahit few reaources kaya natin yan. Let's be ready na i-survive mga sarili natin para makatulong tayo sa iba. Magandang warning yung unang pagsabog atleast meron time yung mga malalapit sa area na makapaghanda sa long term solution.

"He also assured the public that even if it is within the 14-km radius danger zone, Tagaytay City – a popular tourist destination – is high enough not to be affected by a base surge in case of a major eruption. Nonetheless, everyone must remain vigilant, he said.

Phivolcs earlier described a base surge as a special class of pyroclastic density currents which “rush down the volcanic slopes or rapidly outward from a source vent at high speeds” following a volcanic eruption.

It added a base surge is usually a “mixture of fragmented volcanic particles, hot gases and ash” which can travel at car speed and can instantly burn properties and people, just like what happened during the Taal Volcano eruptions in 1754, 1911 and 1965.

“We’re monitoring the possibility of steam explosions as frequent explosions may eventually lead to base surge,” Solidum said.
