    +100 We do the same at home. It's to make the guest feel welcome and show you made an effort. My Dad likes to entertain at home so we have a lot of dinnerware

    I'm so glad that tradition hasn't died yet. I can't even remember the last time I had boodle fight, sa beach pa ata when I was young. I love inihaw na baboy the most!

    if it's VIPs, we bring out the better babasagins (not melamine!).
    but if it's just us and relatives, we pass out paper plates.. yung aluminum or waxed, para hindi lumusot ang grasa.

    but whatever, we always use metal spoons and forks. the plastics always break.. it's not fun, eating lechon that you can't prise apart.

    btw... decades ago, we didn't use plates during parties. we used banana leaves. there were lots of banana plants around the house..
    alas.. nowadays, no one wants to go harvest some leaves.. masyadong jungle-y.. baka ma-nuno sa punso...

    Doc, kamay ang the best for lechon paired with puso (hanging rice).
