November 20th, 2010 12:05 PM #596I have my own share of horrible experience with Rapide.
Nov2009, I brought my Vios at Rapide near Paseo de Sta Rosa in Laguna for replacement of drive boot. Right there and then, their mechanic subjected my car to inspection and reported the following:
1. Drive boot to be replaced (of course. I knew it from the start.)
2. Cracked suspension (need to be replaced according to them but I did not give in. Until now, even the mechanic at Toyota Alabang is not reporting such defect).
3. Worn-out brake (although I'm sure that their is no problem and I have the unit serviced in Toyota Alabang a month before, I was worried. For this I gave in). When I compared the replaced part and the replacement, I found out that their thickness are almost the same. Too bad for me that I gave in. Now, after 9 months, the same brake is really demonstrating problem. And I'm not naive to bring it to Rapide again. But another misfortune happened before I came to my senses.
April 2010, Toyota reported that the same drive boot is broken again. I wanted to have it fixed in Toyota but I cannot be accommodated again as their load was very high because it was approaching Holy Week. I was forced to have it replaced at Rapide. This time, they damaged the thread my drive shaft forcing a rethread. I cannot do anything as I need the car. They had it fixed and it was tested. Unfortunately, there was a crackling noise and it was found out that the wheel bearing was broken. Apparently, the mechanic was not able to fully tighten the lock. And I have to pay for a replacement bearing. I demanded that I should not be paying it since they caused it to be broken. We ended up meeting half-way. It was tested but because of the earlier damaged thread, it was difficult. Finally, the road test indicated that problem was fixed. On my way home (past 7pm already), I heard an intermittent metal-to-metal noise but I don't have the opportunity to bring it back because it was already Holy Week vacation. As I travelled to the province the noise became worst. On Black Saturday, I brough it back to them and it was found out that the bearing was not pressed causing the back plate to touch the other metal parts. It was fixed but after a week or so, I started to hear intermittent humming noise at the same front wheel. This time, I decided I DON'T NEED TO BE FOOLED AGAIN BY GOING TO RAPIDE. They are really after money only. I decided to bring it to Toyota and waited to be scheduled than ruin my car. I repeat, RAPIDE has no general competence and worst, they are after dishonest gain only.

do not ever bring your car to rapide. mas mura ng konti pero sakit ng ulo ang aabutin mo. mapapamhal ka lalo. halos idemanda ng kaibigan ko yang rapide paseo de santa rosa. yung kanyang starex ilang buwan dyan dahil sa palpak na trabaho. in the end sa kasa din dinala para ipayos. ingat lang.
