They should be of the same quality, Bosch is also a division of Purolator, they will also have those crimps on the gasket as well as country of origin on the filter.
Example of a fake Korean/China clone.. No crimps on the gasket and the China signature plastic at the bottom of the filter is a dead give away of a China knock off.

Ace hardware carries fake Purolators so look look out Tsikot members.
A fellow member sent me the photos of the filters he bought there to have me check to see if they were real or not. Well they are NOT!
Total fakes every one of them.
The oil filters are dead give always, The center tubes are spiral, Purloator uses a strait seam vs the spiral, No crimps in gaskets,
The center one also has the wrong colored label it would be blue and red clear sign it's a fake. Also not a valid Purolator part number. And it has a lip that is not painted. The other thing is Purolator does not even carry a filter that cross references this which is would fit a 4JX1-T Izusu or 4JJ1-TC engine. So they just made up a part number to cover it.
Example of China fake. Crimps are fake and not actually crimped to the gasket, Font is wrong, filter has a silver lip, language is wrong on the front, Nice try guys.
Real.
The end one has the wrong number of holes, no crimps and the dead give away of being a china fake with the plastic at the bottom of the filter. Only China filters have this and it's a dead giveaway every time.
Real
The fuel filter does not have the right stuff on it either it's missing the caution warning and does not come with two gaskets like it supposed to. The base is also all brass in color verses just 1 brass ring. The Purolator lable is also missing the trademark ®
Real
Note severe engine damage can occur by using fake filters.
They probably don't even know what they are selling is not the real deal some greedy supply guy is just going with the China ones.

Honestly with the Bosch it's hard to say, since they chop out work to other countries, Purolators at least have a standard build quality, All the Bosch, US, Mexico and German filters look basically the same and come in the same style box and have the crimps on the filters.
The Malaysian ones look about the same, The big thing is there part numbers don't cross with the US and other area Bosch filters.
The only good way would be to cut one open and see if it's up to par. Bosch is a lower to mid level filter to begin with but the media and parts on the inside should be about the same no matter where they are made. But the plastic on the bottom of the filter is not something that comes on anything other than something that comes out of China.
Looks more like they distribute and not produce these because the Malasian ones look identical right down to the plastic on the bottom of the filter, there is also no actual Bosch plant in South Korea it's Mann-Hummel, MANN+HUMMEL KOREA LIMITED is founded in Seoul, Korea.. There was a Merger between MANN+HUMMEL Dongwoo and MANN+HUMMEL Korea, Incorporation of MANN+HUMMEL (CHINA) CO. LTD. Which could explain the China style of the filters so to check the quality you would have to crack one open.
These filters could just be a result of cheaper labor from China but they do not appear to be the same quality of U.S and German Bosch filters so any filter rating of Bosch filters probably do not apply to these as they are not made to the same standards. Even the simple stuff like a new o-ring for your fuel filter.
I can also tell that fuel filter does not have spiral wrapped or stacked disk filter element just by looking at because you can see the filter media which just looks like pleted media like a oil filter just the other direction. Or tight wound filter media like a OEM filter or other filters like that style filter should.
Malaysian filter (note there is no Bosch facility in Malaysia that produces oil filters)

Your pretty safe going to official dealers, better them then small shops when trying to get the real deal. But then again we all know how things are.
This is listed Bosch official dealer in the Philippines. I would contact them for official distributers.
