Ok ang integration ng Waze sa Apple Car Play. I think its enough to be your permanent GPS unit, provided your head unit is capable of such. Even obscure destinations, it is in the Waze directory.

If your data plan is not an issue and your destination has signal, Waze is perfect. If it is an issue, you could download the maps and use Google maps to assist you. It has some traffic info but not as extensive as Waze.

Just to add... issue ko lang naman to use the phone as a primary GPS is ang daming distractions...

    Minsan sunod sunod ang notifications...

I primarily use Waze on my smartphone. I also have a Garmin accessory with offline maps connected to my HU as backup.

There are areas in MM where data is too slow or non-existent for Waze to work properly. That's when I switch to my HU, especially if the area is unfamiliar.

I use Google Offline Maps, kahit walang net gagana parin pero wala nga lang real time traffic info. Super helpful so mga areas na walang data.

Based on my experience, waze works better in Asia while google map is more accurate in North Am and EU.

When I am driving, I let my wife operate Waze on her phone. I don't like looking in the middle of the dashboard when driving as I focus more on the road. You cannot be distracted when driving at a certain pace. I just ask her how far we need to go on the current stretch of road and how far till the next turn (left of right) or in the case of winding roads, how far on the next hairpin or chicane.

Before the trip, I study ahead of time my itinerary and plan alternate routes if necessary.
