They've lately been quite aggressive sa car audio budget offerings nila. Saw a lot of them sa Banawe but I haven't heard of one pa.

I don't think you'll go wrong with them naman. TEAC's a known brand naman when it comes to the audio industry. While the likes of Harman's JBL was more focused on consumer goods (home speakers, pro-audio speakers, etc.) si TEAC more on the recording industry. They were very famous before.. I guess since masnawala na mga magnetic tapes, they've become less known na.

For the brands, depends on your budget. I typically like Targa and Ryan Audio naman. They're excellent at their budget offerings.
Thanks sir for the inputs. Ganito na muna ang step na gagawin ko. Hopefully may significant change in sq pag palit ko sa stock speakers.

Generally, a speaker upgrade will yield better results than a head unit upgrade. Of course, YMMV kasi dito since some stock head units sound horrible (they restrict the sound a lot) and that upgrading it first may yield better results. But given that most stock head units nowadays are of better quality na, my vote will go to a speaker upgrade muna.

May balak ka ba mag-amplifier? If not, I'll suggest lowering your budget to around the 7k mark. I've gotten more strict in my budgetary requirements na wherein before I will suggest a ceiling of 10,000php for non-amplified systems, nowadays I will limit it to 7,000php.

As some of you might have noticed, I'm a fan of JBL's 609C because at 5,000php I find it of tremendous value. Speaker construction palang panalo na. But if you insist, the RS6N won't disappoint din naman. If you're also into the more "upscale" brands, you can also check out Morel's entry-level Maximo 6 at around 7,000php (nagtaas na presyo nila lahat thanks to inflation).

For the head unit, pick one that fits your needs and budget. If you need Bluetooth, then get a model that has one. Parehas lang sound quality nila lahat -- what simply differs are the features (better screen, etc.).

After installation, fiddle with the EQ afterwards. Just tailor it according to your taste. Need more bass? Then a +1 or +2dB to the bass regions (50hz to 300hz) would be nice.

Personally, I'll go for the JBL. This leaves you more cash for your budget that you can budget for other components. JBL's local distributor is Perfect Circle of Banawe. You can purchase your needs directly through them or through their resellers (call them up with your location so they know where to point you to their nearest reseller).

On the otherhand, Rockford Fosgate's local distributor is Winterpine Marketing in Araneta Avenue. They're also the distributor of DLS and Kicker products.

Yun problema kasi for "budget" components is that there's not much difference in picking on them. 95% of the products uses either plastic polypropylene or paper in speaker construction and a metal/fabric tweeter for the highs. Between paper and plastic, usually plastic since it's low cost and easy to manufacture without much variation from driver to driver (for their QA). On the otherhand, paper is also low cost but more problematic (ex. they absorb moisture in the air so nagiiba tunog nila over time if untreated) for manufacturers.

Speaker selection shines once you start going for the 10,000php upwards. Dito nakikita mo na mga R&D ng mga speaker manufacturers such as Focal's glass/paper "polyglass" sandwiches, JBL subwoofer GTi's underhung motors with differential drive design, Morel's carbon fiber Rohacell sandwiches, etc. Aside from these meron din mga tweaks dyan-dyan like using more expensive neodymium over the common ferrite magnets, the use of aluminum voice coils and non-magnetic baskets, etc.

Do you need deadening? Not really but I do suggest it. Improvements differs from car-to-car kasi... but it might be a good idea for you to "experience" it. No harm there naman. You can backread the thread a bit on what deadening's benefits are.

Haha, thanks for the compliments boss. However, I'll need to decline the FB request on the basis that I add only people I'm quite close to.

Feel free to post any more questions if you have them ;) dumaan din ako sa newbie stage so alam ko yun feeling kung may nagtatanong tpos wala sumasagot

I plan to upgrade my Innova's soung system.
    I currently have:
    Front: 6" 2-way Pioneer 40w rms
    Rear: 6" x 9" 3-way Pioneer 40w rms

    I plan to buy:
    HEADUNIT
    JVC 2-din KW R600BT
    20w rms x 4
    2.5v x 2 pre-outs (front + rear/subs)

    SUBWOOFER:
I prefer powered subs for less hassle.

I am not looking forward to have a boom boom pow sound system but I like a clean, deep, smooth and swabe output from my set-up.

    QUESTIONS:
1- What could be the best subwoofer to get? (the smaller the better)
2- Do I still need seps and a separate ampli for it?

I can spend around 15k for the speakers and ampli.

    Maraming salamat po.
