^^ bitin yang 20k chief, kung gusto mo ng may BOOM effect at least 30k.
Invest on a good head unit mga 7k up pioneer or alpine would be a good start
as for speakers 3:1 dapat budget split mo (ex. 6k front stage, 2k rear fill)
subwoofers at least 5k para medyo decent sounding naman
amplifying the sub is a must so mga at least 5k ulit
wiring and labor cost mo 5-10k din = approx. P35,000 in hand for basic sound system

as for my own question for this thread..

I am thinking of finally adding an amplifier for my speakers
my choice boiled down to a FOCAL SOLID 4 x 75w amp and the FOCAL PERFORMANCE 2 x 100w amplifier.
the 4 channel 75w "Solid" is worth just P1000 more than the 2 channel 100w "Performance" but the power difference is evident.
the 100w 4 channel Performance costs P7000 more than the "solid" line -- not an option at this point.
Is it better to leave the rear speakers to the standard alpine HU amp rated at 4*50w max and just beef up the fronts to 100w?
or power all four speakers evenly at 75w rms? my speaker's rms rating is 80 watts.

    Gud day guys!

Im planning to improve/upgrade my Honda civic 96's sound system.. Eto po mga parts na meron ako:

    Pioneer DEH-8350sd
    Pioneer TS-G1612S (coax front speaker)
    Sony Xplod 6x9 (rear speaker)

BTW, mas ok nga bang unahin kong palitan yung seperate speakers or mas maganda bang bili muna ako ng 4 ch amplifier? Thanks guys!

Best change the Pioneer coaxials to a separate speaker component of your choice. First thing you'll notice is an increase in stage height (thank you dash mounted tweeter for that) but in terms of clarity, that would depend on what speakers you'll buy.

I would go with the 4 channel Focal solid. I have not heard this or any Focal amp for that matter. My reason is flexibility. You can bridge the 3rd and 4th channels to power a sub or use it for your rear fill. I dont think you will notice the 25 watts difference in power. What you may or may not hear between the solid and performance line is the difference in sound quality or clearness of the signal. As for your HU giving 50 watts, thats marketing hype. The max your HU will pump out is around 10 to 15 watts of clean power. Most HU's will be able to give 10 watts and will be distorted or clipping at 15 watts.

Thanks for the reply The Truth...
Now at least I have a reference when asking for a quotation for the job.
If anybody can give a breakdown it is more helpful especially for beginners.

    Salamat uli sayo partner!

If that's a stock Crosswind, change your headunit first. You don't need to pay out big bucks, somewhere around 5-6k would do. Pioneer has cornered this price range so go with them.

Using 20k as a reference, you now have 14-15k left. It's better to check for shops who do budget installs and avail of their packages. Why packages? Since these packages include miscellaneous expenses often set asided by the potential car audio newbie -- wiring, labor, installation

As for brands, I'll stick with Targa (I like their separates), JBL (GT5 seems like a very staple budget subwoofer), or Ryan Audio. An example of a break-down of expenses is:

    Front Separates - Targa (4000~)
    Rear Speakers - Stock
    Subwoofer - JBL GT5 (2000~)
    Amplifier - ???
    Box, Wiring, Labor - 4000~

Sa amplifier ka maiipit. Most likely, if you aren't planning to upgrade any more, get a V12 amplifier ;) but if you can literally squeeze some more out of your budget, I would get something better.

Where is your general area? I might be able to recommend you a shop nearby.

Definitely Better. Sell the amplified subwoofer and get yourself an amplifier. If you can find a Powerbass ASA600.4 in the same price as a SM VS160.4, I would go for the Powerbass. It has better internal "guts" once you open it up. Afterwards, deaden your door so that your midbass could shine. Deadening is very important in car audio. If you were to choose between an amplifier or a deadening, I'll go for the deadening first. Afterwards, add in an actual subwoofer powered by an amplifier. A amplified sub will only get you so far in terms of bass.

If that's a Strada, you WILL have mounting issues with a subwoofer though. So better research first ;) go for slim subs (subwoofers that need minimal air enclosures to sound good) pare!

Wait, why are you limiting yourself to Focal amplifiers? Kindly state your budget.

The reason for this is that although Focal-JMLabs is possibly the most known brand in car audio, their Solid amplifier lineup isn't anything special. It's built like a tank, yes. But there are better amplifiers there for the money like Phoenix Gold amplifiers.

I haven't heard the FPP lineup yet. As this is fairly recently introduced (wala pa yan 1 year pare) but their FPS (Power Symmetric) lineup is pretty nice. Inside guts is excellent, build-quality is excellent, and it's the one who put Focal back in the amplifier world as a brand to reckon with.

But if I will really need to get between the two, I will also go for the Focal Solid 4 for the flexibility if gives. If not, snap up the Performance. What is your rear speakers pare? Personally, I would recommend just beefing up the fronts and just selling the rear speakers for more cash
