Just three decades is not enough to change culture.
The problem is that we were colonized by the Spanish. The exploitative kind of colonization... keep people poor and leech off of the resources of their colonies... whereas British and American colonization is the constructive kind... they build industries and businesses wherever they colonize... yet it's the Spanish culture that took hold.
Look at former British colonies... India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia... all prosperous to some degree... even if there are poor Indians, the industrial base is good. That's because the Brits and Americans care less about indoctrinating and subjugating and more about developing economies to support their own.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Only thing at home that comes into mind that's truly Philippines-made beside food stuff are electric fans...everything else has a korean, japanese or chinese origin...
Can anyone name one large local company that's into manufacturing other than foodstuff?Last edited by Monseratto; June 18th, 2012 at 04:24 PM.

kasi we are trained and educated to become technicians, mechanics, electricians instead of becoming inventors or designers. IMO may kulang ang educational system kasi di nabibigyan ng emphasis ang research and development.
