VW-PH had a pretty good model lineup back then. The budget car model was the Polo hatchback with a 1.6L NA gas engine.
The Jetta was available in 3 engine options (1.4L turbo gas, 1.6L turbo diesel, and 2.0L turbo diesel). The Jetta 1.6L TDI had two tranny options - 6MT and DSG.
The Golf came in with 4 models (1.4L turbo gas hatchback, 2.0L turbo gas GTi hatchback, 2.0L turbo diesel GTS wagon, and 2.0L turbo diesel Caddy MPV).
The Passat 2.0T was offered in two trims. A minivan was also available - Touran TDI. The Touareg V6 TDI was the flagship model and it offered a good proposition for a vehicle that’s basically similar to the Audi Q7.

July 4th, 2021 11:19 AM #45Although I love VW and their german lineup, I wouldn’t buy their Chinese/SAIC models or kahit anong Chinese car brand, i will avoid as a matter of principle and patriotism.
Marami naman Japanese, American and korean choices.
That’s just me though.
