on the other hand, the US adheres to the principle of JUS SOLI (law of the soil). under this concept, citizenship of a person is determined by the place where he was born.

so, if a Filipina gives birth in the US territory, the baby actually has dual citizenship. in the eyes of philippine law, he is a filipino, but to the americans, he is american.

if he was born in the middle of the pacific, let us apply the principle of exterritoriality. airplane is an extension of the country whose flag it flies. so, it depends. if it is PAL, then he is a filipino. if american airlines, he's american.
eh di tama ako baka Qatar or Etihad, maging Arabo anak mo. pag Cathay Pacific, instsik anak mo.

pano kaya pag UN Plane halimbawa sumabog yun isang island tapos na-rescue kayo ng buntis mo wife, tapos nanganak sya sa middle ng ocean habang lumilipad yun UN plane, ano kaya nationality nun?

well, the dead can't very well say what their preferences are.
the relatives will have to do the talking for them.

Thank you clearing this thing. For the last part that you mentioned about this territory thing ("hard" to type the exact term that you used), this is similar to shipping industry. The vessel where it is registered is an extension of its country. So if the ship has a raised US flag, the ship is a "US citizen". If you board that ship, you are within the US territory and their law applies to you and not the country where it is berthed.

And there are at least two US vessels here in Subic, right now. In particular, the military vessel is treated with "special care". It has buoys all around it so that no vessel can approach it.

Nothing to worry about as others have responded and they are funny in their own way.

I would say that it was a "deliberate act" on the part of *dr.d, I doubt he didn't see the trick question there.
