Singapore air pollution jumps to PSI 371, in "hazardous" range again
AsiaOne
Thursday, Jun 20, 2013
The haze was brought over from the fires in Sumatra by prevailing winds blowing from the southwest or west, and has affected Singapore sinceJune 13. The National Environmental Agency (NEA) said that they expect the wind and weather conditions to remain constant and therefore the haze will persist.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) advised Singaporeans to limit prolonged or heavy outdoor activities. In particular, children, the elderly, and those with heart or lung diseases should avoid outdoor activities and seek medical treatment early if they feel unwell.

Umabot na sa "Hazardous" to health yung Haze... Wawa yung mga tourist at may plans papunta dun.
SINGAPORE – Singapore's smog index hit the critical 400 level on Friday, June 21, making it potentially life-threatening to the ill and elderly people, according to a government monitoring site.
The level was reached at 11 am (0300 GMT) after a rapid rise in the Pollutant Standards Index, which measures the haze crisis caused by Indonesian forest fires.
The previous Singapore air pollutant index high of 226 was recorded in September 1997 at the height of a Southeast Asian calamity also resulting from vast amounts of haze from Indonesia, where slash-and-burn farming generates large amounts of smoke during the dry season that begins in June.
Singapore has urged children, the elderly, and those with heart or lung disease to avoid outdoor activities and seek medical treatment early if they feel unwell.Last edited by Monseratto; June 21st, 2013 at 12:37 PM.

May nagsusukat ba ng PSI ng Manila? Malamang constant na mataas din tayo. Swerte pa rin nila minsan lang mangyari sa kanila yan, sa atin araw araw.

Singapore Airline is allowing passengers to refund their ticket to the country during the haze....
Update on Haze Situation in Singapore
Singapore Airlines is closely monitoring the haze situation in Singapore and is working with the relevant regulatory authorities. Currently, Singapore Airlines' flights into and out of Changi Airport are continuing to operate as scheduled. However, contingency plans are in place should the situation worsen and affect flight operations.
We appreciate that some customers may wish to defer their travel at this time. Singapore Airlines will waive administrative fees/penalties for refunds, re-booking and re-routing, for customers holding confirmed tickets issued on or before 21 June for travel over 21-27 June 2013. The above also applies to redemption ticketsLast edited by Monseratto; June 21st, 2013 at 05:11 PM.
