as of now, the MNTC/NLEX have only ONE speed gun. before, they are always stationed on top of the overpass before the Petron station (southbound). now, they use a white innova that is parked on the shoulder or sometimes in the center.

when caught speeding, the speed gun have an integrated camera with the speed reading super imposed. they will send the info (type/model of car, plate number and speed) to their apprehending officers stationed at the toll plaza. the proof of your overspeeding will be sent to you via email or maybe snail mail if you don't have email.

Ah, I see. So mas high tech na sila sa MNTC/NLEX.

To clarify, if that's the case, they'll apprehend you first, get your license, then send the proof much later?

    Thanks.

How about sa SLEX? Once to twice a week. Speed limit kasi dito is 80 kph lang e.

Is it the same as NLEX na radar gun, picture then apprehend sa exit? Ang alam ko dati sa timestamp yata nung toll card pwede din manghuli.

Dati kasi ang alam ko may nanghahabol sa SLEX e.

thanks boybi. technically, without the email, one should be able to contest the apprehension.

    the_noise,
i don't think may nanghuhuli ng speeding sa SLEX, except for sa Skyway. sa Skyway naman, nakikita ko lang may nagra-radar, at may nag-a-abang sa toll plaza. di ko alam kung pano pino-prove yung dahilan ng pagkahuli. as to the timestamp, technically pwede if you're average speed is above the limit, pero kung hindi, mejo mahirap malaman kung speeding ka.

Hehe... the Skyway? Are they still doing that 105 km/h thing, or that going 45 kph in the 40 kph zone (between plazas, where buses regularly do 50... I should know... I'll be chugging along at 40, and they're breathing up my tailpipe) on the Skyway?

On the regular SLEX, there's no radar enforcement. Most of the traffic flows along between 80 - 120 km/h, sometimes 130 km/h on weekends... but there are portions where it's dangerous to go even a "mere" 80 km/h, because of the irregular bumps in the asphalt, which pitch the car sideways.

BTW, speed limit is supposedly 60 km/h (bottom) to 100 km/h (top) on the regular SLEX and 80 km/h (bottom) to 100 km/h (top) on the Skyway. I haven't seen anyone caught for underspeeding or overspeeding, even though I've seen lots of near accidents where some idiot merges three lanes left doing 30 km/h in front of an 18 wheeler going 120...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

If the officer apprehends you, always ask for proof that you're really speeding. He should be able to show you the speed gun and the indicated speed.

accurate kaya ang data nila? is radar gun accurate on busy road like slex, nlex or skyway? pagsinabi bang 100kph limit eh pag nag101kph ka huli na?

dito kasi sa dubai, ang mga speed radar my flash yung katulad sa camera. pero pag 80 or 120kph ang speed limit my allowance of 20kph pagsumobra na dun mo malalaman kasi magfflash na ung camera kahit sa umaga. after 3 days yung violation mo nasa online services na ng pulis. nakalagay na sa website nila just type your plate no. pagiba ang driver kung kanino nkaregister yung car sya ang mayfine. banned dito ang radar detectors or jammers. kulong at deportation ang parusa.
