Suggestion nila was to change the oil and try again. I already have an appointment at MI Manila Bay and will also ask them to check why it failed.

john assumed that the car was running extra-rich, because the engine was still cold.
i do not know whether his belief is correct or not, but if it is,
the simplistic (yet logical) solution is to make sure the engine had sufficiently reached optimum temperature, before bringing it in for re-testing.
but if the engine still fails, then it's time to consult his engine expert.

we (i) used to have our diesel's exhaust pipes cleaned at the gas station, using garden hose and tide, just before emissions testing.
but i had stopped this practice in the past twenty or so years, and i still passed the emissions test every time.

Understandably mas stringent ang requirements for newer cars Doc. I had a 95 Lancer with leaks all over and it passed all tests until I sold it in 2011.

This is the first time I drove directly to the LTO from the house. Usually kasi hinahatid ko muna si missis para isang lakaran na lang. If time permits I'll have it retested after the service. Siguro naman the drive from Macapagal to FTI should warm it up sufficiently.

Dapat pala magpa change oil and Italian tune up ako bago magpa emission, 13 months na itong car ko from last oil change.

Had the car registered yesterday sa LTO makati. Brought an emissions test and come 'LTO inspection' the inspector just asked where is the EWD. Told him at the trunk. He signed the inspection form and let me continue the process.

When i got home, nasa garahe pala yung EWD. Inalis ko pala nung one time naglinis ako ng kotse. Hehehe

Dati kasi may racket dyan sa EWD, pag wala ka you can either buy or rent from them. But I guess, marami ng me alam nito so they just ask, no need to see, pero siguro the moment one answers wala, then game na sya.

i have this daiso-esque habit of buying things...
one time, i was rummaging thru the car's rear trunk...
" bakit meron tatlong ewd dito...?"
