While private vehicles are increasing every year, should the EP gets granted by Congress to rationalize our public transpo system especially taxis / buses as per JICA Roadmap Masterplan (coupled with ongoing L7/MMSP/L1 extension/L3 rehab/NSCR, etc), this can greatly help IMO alleviate traffic in MM, the classic walang disiplina nothwithstanding.
Our ASEAN peers can do it, why can't we?

August 9th, 2019 11:15 AM #142if the government improves mass transport, fewer folks will want to drive.
heck! they can't even plan for adequate pedestrian walking space.
in my neighborhood, the main jeepney route and lrt station are really very walk-able from our neighborhood.
the issue is, there ain't any sidewalks to walk on.
instead, what we have are external sala sets, laundry areas, turo turo seats, vulcanizing shops, semi-permant car parking, and oodles of puddles and mammal poop in between.

same sentiment here... yung isang bus load of passengers ay i-transfer lang sa isang bus with different name. though maybe i can't see the bigger picture what the mmda can see kaya gusto itong subukan.
expedite all train and skyway projects! sobrang bagal kasi itong mga project implementation ng mga ito.

Nasabi ko na ata before
Revoke lahat ng DL no exceptions. Apply ulit lahat.
Kuha ng third party (private) licensing.
Even vehicle registration third party na din.
Mandatory comprehensive insurance sa lahat ng vehicles.
Mandatory jail time and fine for drivers with fraudulent licenses / driving with no issued license, driving unregistered vehicles.

August 10th, 2019 02:44 PM #147sana epmhasis on enforcement. kasi madalas kun sino pa walang lisensya yun pa malakas ang loob magdala ng sasakyan. tapos madami pa ang may sense of entitlement kapag nagmamaneho. maski naman entitled ka magmaneho thru your license e may kaakibat na responsibilidad agad yun.

We don't need more rules or experiment. Daming gusto gawin pero ningas kugon lang. Just STRICT enforcement and HIGH penalties, like absurd type. 100K for obstruction, 50K illegal unload/loading, etc.
Just like Singapore, more fines will force people to be careful. 300 for number coding penalty? Really? Mas mura pa yan kaysa mag Grab balikan eh.

Edsa made worse | Philippine Daily Inquirer
August 11, 2019
The daily nightmare on Edsa was made even worse last week with the confusion inflicted by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) yellow lane policy, the aggravation of a provincial bus ban that went ahead despite a court order, and heavy rains.
A solution (I posted this before):
Advantages of the Bus Convoy system:
- takes up only one lane
- easier to schedule groups of buses
- uses existing buses
- simple / low tech

Sa dami ng maayos na solution na naipost dito sa tsikot. Wala atang naimplement.
Bakit nga naman isosolve ng mga govt agency ang problem. Eh di nawalan sila ng trabaho.
