We can't jump to those fighters without having advanced trainers first.
It's like riding a bike then go drive a super car.
After those FA-50's then we can go for a better, fighter jet.
AFP/PAF's going bang for the buck, you get an advanced trainer and a light fighter/bomber in one package.

Parang analog vs digital hehe. Problem pa natin is logistics/ after service. Mahal mag maintain ng ganitong air craft. Much cheaper siguro kung missile na lang ang develope natin
