hehe after some few months, look whose saying na FORRESTer is maganda haha

besides, 3 lang sila...mom ko and my lil sis. we dont live with them na haha

foruner nalang auto nila ngayon which is way big for them and di sila ginagabi sa takot sa carjack, kasi 3 na sa friends nya na carjack ang fort haha

and now after reading C! and topgear which applauds the forrester for being underated and being a bang for buck suv, all he can do is regret his decision of getting one of the most common suv that has a d4d reliabilty problem and harsh ride and the crush of all carjackers haha over the low profile all wheel drive turbo boxter engine that only true enthusiast would appreciate

after some deep thoughts, he finally admitted na he made a mistake with the fort hahaha and he considered himself a car enthusiast haha

all he can do...or all we can do is to drool over our neighbors white forrester, listen to the engine purr and imagine that our noisy d4d engine is a boxster

    what a nightmare....what a nightmare!

I wouldn't know about sa 1st 2k RPM but I read somewhere the difference between an MT and an AT with same specs and a very efficient AT tranny is 10 HP on the dyno. Hindi ako yun ha -- nabasa ko lang. Sa experience ko naman, I've smoked all similar-spec AT's on the 10m test with my MT -- lalo na pag paakyat kahit dagdagan mo pa ng 200ml displacement.

i did mention WRX in my previous post about the testdrive

I've decided to go with the Forester. The challenge is getting the necessary credit approval / paperwork done.

I start my new job on Feb 26 and part of my compensation is a P35k monthly transportation allowance. I can easily cover the DP and monthly payments but it might be tough getting my loan approved. I hear that most banks require at least a year's tenure with your current employer, something i obviously won't have.

I'm supposed to get feedback on my application within the week. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed till then.

hehe im happy naman he bought a car, nothing serious, i just want to make fun of the situation

we are the type kasi na we talk about it as a family before plunging into things.

this " fortuner " event was not one of the typical moves hehe. at first he was asking what good car to buy and we said for his age, 54, but looks young hehe either forrester if he wants a suv or wrx...para mahiram namin hehe

anyway, point ko lang...fortuner...di sulit...almost all the people who buy this suv doesnt even have an idea how it drives or how hard the ride is...basta lang ba makiuso sa uso...typical filipino...

now the forrester...i never appreciated it until i have opened my eyes and ears and heard and felt its awesome power every single morning, thanks to our friendly neighbor

even if id save up, i will never have enough to buy one,

so for now i will swallow my pride and wake up every morning, stare and pause in silence so that i could hear the purr of the forrester...ofcourse thanks to my neighbor again hahaha

you guys who bought one... i envy you

Nah, Forester isn't that expensive, it's only 1.5M++ i think. Nothing big. You can save up for it. :-)

bro, walang wrx version and Forester (Impreza lang). you probably meant XT or STi. i think the XT can be had for P1.65M. i'm not sure if you can special order the Forester STi sa Pinas or not, but i know it will cost you tons of money to get one. if you do get an STi, baka ikaw lang meron nyan sa Pinas.

MT Fan kasi me eh.

There's only one way to find out. If you have an MT Civic, I'm free anytime this weekend to test.

On a side note, visited Orange Performance yesterday to see if there's anything I could do to improve the performance of my ride. Had a good discussion with Dominique, the owner of the place. He was kind enough to give me a crash course on tuning and even diagnosed my XT's engine for me. As it turns out, the engine wasn't very happy with the fuel currently in the tank. The ECU was telling the engine to compensate for low octane fuel (below the minimum 95 octane required by the engine) by adjusting a bunch of parameters and degrading performance a bit. In fact, it was surprisingly close to going into limp mode. I wasn't expecting this to happen since I only fill up with S***l V-P*w*r at the station along C5.

Petron along EDSA near Greenhills supposedly has good quality fuel according to him. Will give it a try after i run down my tank.
