March 13th, 2007 11:21 PM #61I wouldn't know. Malayo din kasi by far ang civic MT at AT eh. I've tried both. Sa US nga yung friend ko na naka RAV4 manual left behind all them V6's at the interstate on ramp eh -- on ramp lang though.
MT Fan kasi me eh.

March 14th, 2007 12:16 PM #63The only Subaru showroom is along EDSA, a few meters after Annapolis St., Greenhills. It's right beside Ford and they have a big sign up front so you can't miss it. The SRP for the 2.5XT is Php1.67M. I believe it's the most expensive of the three but you'll see why after your test drive.
No matter which of the three you finally decide to get, you will be getting a good vehicle. Your choice will boil down to personal preferences.
If you want more information on the Forester, you can visit www.motorimage.net.
Good luck!

when i first got my forester, i was looking for excuses to drive. i even volunteered to drive my mother-in-law around.
just a forewarning...the forester xt is not as roomy nor practical as the other two vehicles you've mentioned. if you have a family of five or more, this vehicle is probably not for you. if your concern is to save gas, this vehicle is certainly not for you. shops and parts are probably not readily available sa probinsya. i'm not trying to dissuade you from buying the vehicle, it is a good vehicle, but it may not be what you need. kasi if you test drive it, you might just buy it, putting aside any practicalities, just like i did.

im sure your father has a reason for that decision.
im a big subbie fan but i chose a Santa Fe over a Forester XT, the main reason is because my family needs a bigger space since a have 3 kids and 2 yayas plus the cargo.
the subbie will come....soon!

10m dash XT vs 1.8 civic m/t? im not sure but i'll still go for the XT.
btw, the car that i test drove is the WRX, m/t ofcourse, not the XT.
wow, bilis nyan.
i did 1,000kms in 6 days with my Santa Fe, hehehe!

March 15th, 2007 07:48 PM #68Yuichi,
"btw, the car that i test drove is the WRX, m/t ofcourse, not the XT."
-- hehe. Madaya ka pala eh. WRX pala eh -- talagang matulin yun. Di ba impreza yun WRX? O parehas lang ang sa forester?
I wouldn't know about sa 1st 2k RPM but I read somewhere the difference between an MT and an AT with same specs and a very efficient AT tranny is 10 HP on the dyno. Hindi ako yun ha -- nabasa ko lang. Sa experience ko naman, I've smoked all similar-spec AT's on the 10m test with my MT -- lalo na pag paakyat kahit dagdagan mo pa ng 200ml displacement.

March 16th, 2007 03:14 AM #69hahah lam mo sir ang main reason nya eh
yun typical filipino mentality na TOYOTA ang the best brand haha since bata pa ako toyota na halos oto namin, and he's afraid to try others, lalo na subaru na onti lang nakaka appreciate
hehe after some few months, look whose saying na FORRESTer is maganda haha
besides, 3 lang sila...mom ko and my lil sis. we dont live with them na haha
foruner nalang auto nila ngayon which is way big for them and di sila ginagabi sa takot sa carjack, kasi 3 na sa friends nya na carjack ang fort haha
and now after reading C! and topgear which applauds the forrester for being underated and being a bang for buck suv, all he can do is regret his decision of getting one of the most common suv that has a d4d reliabilty problem and harsh ride and the crush of all carjackers haha over the low profile all wheel drive turbo boxter engine that only true enthusiast would appreciate
after some deep thoughts, he finally admitted na he made a mistake with the fort hahahaand he considered himself a car enthusiast haha
all he can do...or all we can do is to drool over our neighbors white forrester, listen to the engine purr and imagine that our noisy d4d engine is a boxster
