June 23rd, 2007 02:13 AM #161That's how most of the pipz at the usa forester forums see it.
Here though, the Overdrive button works by adding the last gear, making it able to go faster but if and only if you're already beyond the 2nd to the last gearing ratio. I actually drove an AT before with this feature and this is exactly what it used to do.
I'm just not sure that 'power' = 'overdrive', and it doesn't say so in the manual (or anywhere else, apparently).Last edited by pup2; June 23rd, 2007 at 02:15 AM.

Try this. Accelerate from a full stop. Keep your foot at constant throttle, say not lower than 1/4. Count the number of gears it shifts to and (this is more important) take note of the rpm it shifts until you hit a speed of 120 kph. Now repeat this process but with the power button on. That should finally put your question to rest.

I've learned not to believe everything the casa tells me lalo na in the case of an AWD, turbo charged, 4EAT proshift transmission et al.
How about a breakfast EB?

June 23rd, 2007 04:23 PM #167Yung sa overdrive, proven ko na yan. I was wondering why my old Galant AT before was more thrifty on fuel when the OD button was on, then when I counted the gearing, pag naka-off pala siya, 3 gears lang!

June 24th, 2007 06:18 PM #170Thanks. I think it indeed likely that it's OD. Just waiting for Subaru's e-mail response.
