March 10th, 2018 07:37 AM #512that why i always refer any carb in its simplest form glucose, its not bad per se, but most of our food is full of it, that eating frequent small meals is flawed, the body hasnt finished processing your last meal, tapos kakain na naman, the pancreas has no choice but to create more insulin, hence ma oover work and go kaput..

April 2nd, 2018 06:26 PM #514High sugar consumption can raise your cholesterol level. I had a friend whose cholesterol level was 305. The doctor told her that if she can't lower her cholesterol level in 3-4 months, she'll be prescribing her Statin. The doctor gave her a standard list of what to eat like reducing fat intake, no skin, lean meat, reduce egg consumption, etc. Basically reducing fat intake in her diet.
She doesn't want to be under any drugs because she knows of the side effects. I asked her to list her daily food consumption. In her diet was, 3 in 1 Coffee, powdered juices, honey which I found out to be corn syrup and daily consumption of fruits. What I see is a sugar overload. I told her to totally eliminate all of these in her diet. After 3 months, she had her lipid profile again and what do you know, her cholesterol level went down to 218. Ha! The research was correct after all!
I also had my lipid profile taken along with her to boost her morale. I got a lipid level of 192, like always and my diet always consisted of fried chicken, roast chicken, fried fish, sunny side up and omelettes. Lol! But, no beef and pork in my diet. Maybe, once or twice a year. But, that's it.
What I've learned from this? Sugar is the culprit for all of our health woes.
