So, I finally got to visit Laos. It was a unique adventure. I took the bus from Bangkok to Vientiane and it took the bus around 12 hours to reach the Laos border. I slept the whole time and I simply imagined myself inside a cryogenic hibernation capsule traveling through space. I did not feel the passage of time whatsoever. I woke up and we were already 45 mins away from the border. I felt refreshed but I really needed to go to the bathroom urgently to pee. I managed to hold it until the bus reached the immigration. I ran to the bathroom and released waterfalls. What a relief. lol

At the Thailand immigration, I had my passport stamped. I went up the bus again and after a few minutes we've reach the Laos border. Got down again and have my passport stamped again. It was such a hassle. Around 30 mins, we've reached Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. Laos is an underdeveloped communist country, so I won't expect any "modern" convenience. The bus stopped at the central bus station and when the bus door opened, a large group of men rushed in hoping to get customers. I go, WTF? Zekes! It felt like World War Z and they were the infected, lol.

There was this “tuk tuk” guy following me around asking where I want to go. He was so persistent and it was getting rather annoying. So, I thought of a way how to lose him. I asked, "How much going to That Luang temple?" He told me, "40,000 Kip". I told him, "Too expensive! That Luang is so near. I can walk 20 mins, no problem, that’s 0 Kip. My last price to you 20,000 Kip." He said, "No no no, 30,000 kip". I took out 20,000 kip from my wallet, gave it to him and thanked him for being a good friend, but he refused. I insisted 20,000 kip and I was persistent. He walked away grumbling and got so pissed. He never showed his face ever again. He conversed in Lao with his friends and most probably he told them, "#*$% what a cheap bastard!" LOL!

After having breakfast nearby, I boarded the bus going to the Buddha park. It only cost me 12,000 Kip. But, the bus ride took almost an hour. The road condition was really terrible and I was springing up and down like a pogo stick inside the bus. It was also really dusty and I sort of tasted the floating particles of dirt. I wore my mask and problem partially solved. Cough! Cough!

This Buddha park is really weird.

Anyway, I’ll continue later as my internal batteries are almost drained.

As you might have noticed, I've deleted a video and an image on thread no. 21 as I'm trying to figure out something that has been bothering me lately. I guess this wasn't the source. I'll post it again with additional information.

As in the Light, so in the Darkness
As it is an Animal, so it is a Human
    As Above, so Below
As it is Dissolve, so it is Coagulate
As it is the Sky, so it is the Sea
As it is Male, so it is Female
As it is Water, so it is Fire
As it is the Earth, so it is the Air
As it is Black, so it is White
As it is Naked, so it is Clothed
As it is the Sky, so it is the Sea
As it is a Fish, so it is a Bird
As it is Hot, so it is Cold
As it is the Truth, so it is the Lie
As it is Forward, so it is Backward
As it is Spirit, so it is Flesh
As in the Natural, so in the Spiritual
    As Above, so Below
As in Heaven, so on Earth

    ---

I've always wondered why the opposite aspects are always present in the practice of the occult -

Earth is below, Air is above
Fire is hot, Water is cold

First of all what is "Gnosis"?

    According to Collins dictionary:

    Word origin of 'gnosis'
C18: ultimately from Greek: knowledge, from gignōskein to know

    Basically, "gnosis" means "knowledge".

    ---

So, why the play of the opposites? Does it represent something?

    According to these references:

“The Goal of Gnostic initiation was, likewise, to bring the lower self into union with the higher self, for, it is when they are made one that enlightenment occurs.” - Iranaues (130-202 CE) and Valentinus (100-180 CE)

Gnosis is ‘a union of union and non-union’, to borrow a wonderful phrase from Hegel, quoted in Hanratty, G. (1997), 111. Hegel summarizes the dialectical process as ‘unity, separated opposites, reunion’.” - Jesus and the Lost Goddess, by Timothy Freke, Peter Gandy, p. 286

“The goal is gnosis, the inseparable unity of path and goal, characterized by the union of the opposites - Secret doctrines of the Tibetan books of the dead, by Detlef Ingo Lauf, Graham Parkes, p. 52

“The grand symbol of the restoration of the Pleroma, or wholeness; the hieros gamos, or “sacred marriage,” of the opposites within; and thus the attainment to the true ultimate gnosis.” - Gnosticism: new light on the ancient tradition of inner knowing, by Stephan A. Hoeller, p.88

    ---

So, in other words, Gnosis or "knowledge" is a union of light and darkness, love and hate, sadness and happiness - a union of the opposites where if brought together brings forth illumination.

“Ophite (from Greek ophis, “serpent”), member of any of several Gnostic sects that flourished in the Roman Empire during the 2nd century ad and for several centuries thereafter. Only gnosis, the esoteric knowledge of good and evil, can redeem man from the bonds of matter and make him aware of the unknown god who is the true source of all being.” – Encyclopedia Britannica

I think I've read this somewhere in the Bible:

    Genesis 2:17 (King James Version)

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

If we were to re-write this verse, it will read:

    Genesis 2:17

But of the tree of gnosis, you shall not partake of it, for if you partake of it, you will die.

    ---

Just like what Eve did. In other words, she was actually worshiping the devil, teaching her some type of craft that opened her eyes to some sort of wisdom. But, with a cost - life itself, human life, that is. Which then cascaded to her children, to her children's children and to all the generations of men, because she was after all the mother of all of us. The entire human race was sacrificed to the devil by this single act she made.

    Interesting.

I'll connect this to post #44 - Human Sacrifice, which I will post later if time permits.

Eliphas Levi, a 33rd degree Freemason was the one who drew the Baphomet. His name is located on the sphere near the bottom left of the drawing.
