Here’s what I’ve researched so far with regards to the number 13.

1) The 13th chapter of Revelation is the chapter where the number 666 is mentioned.

Rev 13:18 This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.

When you add the number 13 and 18, using numerology, you get: 1+3+1+8 = 13

2) There were actually 13 apostles. Judas died and was replaced by Matthias, making him the 13th apostle among the first ones. 12 good apples and 1 bad apple.

3) There were actually 13 tribes of Israel. 12 were given land, but the tribe of Levi was assigned to work in the temple. 12 Tribes or 13?

4) Jacob who was later named Israel had 13 kids. 12 sons and 1 daughter. 12 Tribes or 13?

5) In Revelation 7:4-8, the 12 tribes of Israel were sealed, except for the tribe of Dan, which was mysteriously omitted - the invisible 13th tribe of Israel. The superhuman Samson belonged to this tribe.

Dan was the tribe who was called a serpent.

“Genesis 49:17 Dan shall be a serpent in the way, a viper by the path, that bites the horse’s heels so that his rider falls backward”

Bible scholars are perplexed why the tribe of Dan was omitted. They have all sorts of theories and arguments, but no clear answers.

I can see a clear pattern here. When it comes to the number 13, something happens. It’s either good or evil, light or darkness, given a special purpose, hidden, excluded, and etc. It’s a mysterious hidden number.

Reading ex-biblical sources:

1) There are actually 13 Zodiac signs and not 12. The Sun actually moves through 13 constellations.

The omitted or “hidden” 13th star sign is Ophiuchus – the serpent bearer. It is also known as “Serpentarius”.

This changes everything for those who rely on star signs for inspiration.

Pisces: March 11 – April 18
Aries: April 18 – May 13
Taurus: May 13 – Jun 21

2) If you were to count the extra days each month after 28 days (7 days x 4 weeks), you will get an extra month, thus, making the year to 13 months. We see the number 13 as the “hidden” number in our calendar.

Why am I suddenly so interested with the number 13? I was looking at someone’s beautiful tattoo on her wrists a couple of weeks ago. I stared at it dreaming and I was wondering what if someone had a hidden number on their wrist? It’s not a birthmark, it’s not a scar, but a hidden number within their veins which is only visible under the shadow of darkness. You can’t see it under the light. If you saw one on your wrist, how would that make you feel?

Anyway, it's just a thought in my imagination.
