Sa split type 2 pa lang un natry ko. Mitsubishi at carrier. Mas ok un Mitsubishi. Mas tahimik un outdoor unit. Tsaka wala din nasisira. Parehong 10hrs a day kung paandarin. 5yrs na un mitsu, 9 yrs na un carrier. 6months ago nasira un main board at receiver ng indoor unit ko sa carrier, sulit na din naman.

OT.....I've the old reliable I refuse to let go of, good sir. The Daikin of automobiles.[emoji4] It has never complained...neither have I. When my routes won't require me off road, I take the fun smaller ones....less road footprint, less guilt in adding to the bad traffic.[emoji4]

I'm wondering if the LG is excellent on paper but loses out in practice to the Japs. Just as the Elantra 1.8 makes more power and costs less than the FD Civic 1.8 but we all know which is the better car for the long term between the two. Is the case the same for aircons?

Compressor of my LG inverter went kaput on the 15th month.

Replaced compressor under warranty but i paid 12k to have the damn thing installed. Di raw part ng warranty installation. Just the part.

This is where split can hurt...install, repair & reinstall fees. Cleaning can be a chore, too. Skeds have to be synched as they'd have to do this in-room. This can be a challenge for 'help-less' households like ours, someone needs to be home to wait em out.
Window installs & cleaning are both DIYable, quick & easy. Should it conk out, one can just grab an identical model & slip the unit in w/o frame/casing removal.

maganda nga sa window type madali linisin, every month binubugahan ko lang ng tubig. maiiwasan mo mag accumulate yun dust at maging mud or moss; tapos sa filter naman bi monthly ang linis. na eextended ko pa yun time bago magbaklas ng AC unit for full cleaning service.

Get the Daikin ... It's highly recommended ... They have and are soon to overtake Samsung as the number one in sales of commercial installations ...

AFAIK, Daikin does not market most of their models in appliance stores ... They prefer to sell directly thru installers and contractors ...

Panasonic's 1hp split type inverter is 26k including installation. Their window type inverter is 28k.

Any reason why I should go for window type over split type?

If split type, compressor will be at the balcony right beside the split type ACU so maintenance shouldn't be an issue.

    the only reason i would go split-type, is because i can't install a window-type.
    window-type is cheaper and easier.
it's easier and cheaper to install, service, and replace.

when the split type in the workplace malfunctions or needs cleaning, it's a commando operation.

when the window-type needs looking into, they just pull it out, and return it when it is fixed. faster fix, too.

but i am sure, you already know all these.
so why are you considering split type?

    my aircon man emphasizes,
make sure the drain system is not clogged. if clogged, rust follows fast.

Because it looks better, is more efficient, and is cheaper (surprisingly the inverter split is cheaper than the inverter window).

Like I said, if it needs repairs/maintenance once a year, then that's one day of hassle. The remaining 364 days, I get to enjoy my better looking room and enjoy my electricity savings.
