Do you use rechargeable batteries?

no ... its not practical because those are low-power devices where even an ordinary battery can last for months

been using gp 2000 since 2000 (coincidence), mostly for tv/ac remote, flashlight and kids toys. still works well. also been using it for wii for a few months.

do you guys have a certain way of using NiMH rechargeable batteries? i use energizer batteries (2500 mah) with the 1-hour fast charger. they're performance usually drops after the second month.

Nabasa ko yung may naginterview na taga candlepowerforums sa isang engineer ng eneloop. Mas less stress daw sa nimh yung maovercharge kaysa yung palagi sobrang discharge.

Kaya bilib talaga ako sa candlepowerforums. Usapang flashlight pero bubutingtingin talaga lahat kung saan pinang-galingan. Hindi ko na nga maintindihan yung malalim na usapan doon sa pagtetest ng lights/charger.

Lately puro fujitsu muna bili ko.

There is little point in buying the Fujitsu batteries. The Eneloops are more beautiful looking, have you seen the Tropical colors, and as inexpensive.

Actually, there's a very good reason to buy the Fujitsu brand batteries, unless you live in Japan or the EU. Pretty soon, Panasonic eneloops likely aren't going to be real eneloops.

The above Fujitsu's are made by FDK Twicell, the company and plant in Japan that made the underlying technology and cells that went into Sanyo eneloops. When Panasonic bought Sanyo, it had to spin the battery plant, technology, workers and patents off into FDK. Panasonic now only owns a *brand name* called "eneloop", and they can sell whatever batteries they want under that name. Currently, Panasonic still buys cells from FDK and sells them as eneloops, and they're required by contract to continue to do so for batteries destined to be sold in Japan and in the EU, but in other parts of the world they are free to use whatever physical cells they want.

In east Asia, Australia, and a number of other areas, eneloops are showing up labeled as "made in China", both on the package and on the cells. These cells contain none of the Sanyo/FDK technology. They are inferior generic LSD technology/cells produced in Chinese factories. Some believe them to be just re-badged Panasonic Evolta cells. It's likely it won't be long before these cells start showing up in the US.

And besides, I don't understand people who buy batteries for what they look like. Performance is all that counts. Once you put them inside a remote or flashlight or whatever, you're never going to see them, so what does it matter what they look like???

Actually on the USA site of Amazon, Fujitsu batteries are the better buy. At least the 8 AA cell pack. Amazonbasics, Duracell, Fujitsu or Eneloops. Doesn't really matter which brand you buy but it seems you do pay a premium for the Eneloop name. Plus as others have mentioned, if Panasonic decides to dump the Japan facilities, it's nice to know there's other brands that use the Eneloop or rather FDK technology.

We here on cpf know about Twicell. Look back at the recent Duracell Ion Core thread for lengthy comments on this.

Fujitsu is the owner of FDK Takasaki. FDK is a subsidiary set up by Fujitsu. Fujitsu is a long time Japanese technical powerhouse, much like say, IBM in the USA. Has been since 2009. What we are calling authentic Eneloops could be said to be Fujitsus. In fact, Eneloops, Amaloops, and Duraloops are all really Fujiloops.

The 2450 mAh family has clarified.

These could all be called identical batteries:
Fujitsu HR-3UTHC 2450mAh (Black) AA, also 3UTHA and 3UTHB
Panasonic Eneloop Pro 2450 BK-3HCC AA
AmazonBasics High Capacity 2400 mAh HR-3UTHA-AMZN AA
Duracell Ion Core 2450 mAh HJ-NMVP-G3AL AA

And there are asterisk possible additions to the list. These need further commentary and evaluation:
*Toshiba Impulse TNH-3A 2450 mAh These compare very closely to Eneloop Pro, with the curious difference that the Toshiba traces are always about 0.03 volts lower than the Eneloop Pro. That could be explained by test setup differences. Perhaps HKJ could comment.
*Twicell HR-3UWX 2500 mAh AA these are made in the FDK factory with the Fujitsu's and others.
*Powerex 2700 AA These compare very closely to the Eneloop Pro in the HKJ comparator.

Used to go to that site mid 2000s b4 i bought my 1st tacti-cool flashlight, the surefire 6p followed by the surefire e2d..60 lumens used to be bright enough...
