HP deskjet printers in lazada or shopee are cheap.
hanap mo lang din is budget printer. i have 2 HP multifunction printers - 1 was over 13 yo na and still reliable kahit ink refills lang gamit.
scanner and copier functions still work. sulit sa projects ng mga kids.
the newer one i got last year is the HP 2130 model.
canon and epson based on my experience is maselan sa ink. refills are a trial and error.
print quality wise mas ok epson.
cheaper printers - canon ( i had a bubblejet series unit long time ago)
but for long term use sa bahay for normal print/scan/copy - i'd recommend HP. mahal lang orig na inks but if you find a store with good refills - t'll be ok.

June 18th, 2020 07:43 PM #123HP - cheap printer, expensive ink. (Give them the razor, sell them the blades!)
Epson - has that annoying thing where the printer will literally stop working after a certain number of print jobs, after which you have to get them to a service center so this internal counter can be reset. Parang maintenance light sa kotse, except when this light turns on it won't drive anymore.
so the winner by elimination is:
Canon!
Canon and Epson both have models that use ink tanks from the factory, so no more need to get stuff modded. Haven't tried the Epson because of above mentioned annoyance, but the Canon also has a removable/replaceable print head.
Brother pa pala, but I have no experience with them outside of lasers so I can't speak for their inkjets.

June 18th, 2020 07:49 PM #124we used to buy original HP ink for our 1300 series 3-in-1, for 1500 per. we can have it re-filled with generic but compatible-enough ink at about 350 bucks.
our three-year old "brother" printer's oem ink costs 350 bucks and, in my opinion, printed three times as much as our old HP's, page-wise.
i am sure, other inks will be considerably cheaper, especially the generics and those that come in jumbo, external packs.
we're not into that much printing, so we are content with regular-size ink cartridges. i just purchased my second black ink cartridge since 2018, as the machine was already giving low ink warnings. but it still prints blacks fine. our color cartridge is still the original since 2018.
HP.
even if the printer were given free, the ink will pay for it. at kumita pa sila.
we gave ours up because the lady in the store said that the ink was rare, was special order from malaysia, and expensive.
i believe the newer HPs are cheaper, but... it was time for a new flavor for us.Last edited by dr. d; June 18th, 2020 at 08:03 PM.

June 18th, 2020 08:05 PM #126clarification po.
our HP has two inks: one black, and another for color.
the price quoted is for black ink only. the color ink is more expensive.
we print in B&W more, and our black ink needed replacement more often.
na-tauhan kami when we found out just how cheap the newer competiting printers' inks cost.Last edited by dr. d; June 18th, 2020 at 08:08 PM.

June 18th, 2020 08:12 PM #127250 to 300p per piece for a 70ml ink should be good, 1k++ for a set of 4 (CMYK.). Matagal tagal na gamitan yan.

June 18th, 2020 08:22 PM #130the black ink cost me 350-390 bucks.
i have not yet reason to buy the color inks.
but carouselling, the color ink cartridges are selling for 390 for each color (x 3 = 1170 bucks for all three colors-magenta, cyan, yellow.). unlike our old HP, each of the three required colors is separately replaced.
the entire panel of brother printer inks (one black, three color) will cost 1600 bucks for complete replacement.
the printer costs about 6K today.Last edited by dr. d; June 18th, 2020 at 08:43 PM.
