Maybe if that money had all gone into development rather than people's pockets. Otherwise. no. Singapore may have had authoritarian rule, but massively lower levels of corruption. It's very rare to see an authoritarian ruler with such little self interest. To compare Marcos to Lee Kwan Yew would be a fallacy. Lee Kwan Yew was not forced out of office and was never in danger of it. If you empower your people and make them truly prosperous, they're not going to rebel!

Si Marcos may blue print na sa buong Pilipinas (some of those blue prints was stolen by a real estate magnate) during his presidency ganun siya katalino. Naalala ko pa sa panahon ng martial law sa labas pa ng bahay kami natutulog sa gabi dahil alam naming ligtas kami, compare it now.......

Obvious if your intention is to stay long in power, you should have a plan. Pero for each project signed , may kickback si Apo Ferdie at Imelda. And most of the time, most projects go to the cronies. Inadopt ng society ang ganitong corruption hangang ngayon. *
