i'm so glad we abandoned our first house. our new one may only be a townhouse, no big garden and no 4 car garage but it does not flood. sigurado ako lampas tao na tubig sa harap ng old house namin. pag mag-release ng water ang lamesa dam nyan sure ako abot na sa 2nd floor. now kahit umulan pa yan ng same like ondoy i can sleep peacefully my family is safe.

my wife said mindanao avenue is not passable anymore. and the corner of visayas avenue and central avenue is flooded waist deep.

Southwest monsoon, eh? I find it hard to believe the cloud ceiling is at 9000 ft and have steady light rain. Maybe if the overall wind flow is from the east where the mountains shear off the lower clouds. I'd bet the ceiling is at 2,300 ft. Maybe the observer is depending solely on what instruments say which can be misleading.

The ceiling is important for aircraft taking off and landing.
