    amazing how stupid they are

nearing govt shutdown they didnt (or couldnt) imagine the damage it would cause them if they let it happen

they actually had to find out by letting it happen

    incredible lack of imagination

11 days into the shutdown they probably think it's not so bad

i'm sure they also think US default won't be as bad as economists says it's going to be

they'll probably let it happen to find out what it will really be like

that's all they had to do

but noooo..... Republicans used the budget talk to defund, delay, repeal Obamacare

hindi dapat ni-ne-negoitiate ang Obamacare during the budget talk

    hindi dapat

    paikot ikot lang tayo

    desperado mga Republican

the only way they could corner the Democrats on Obamacare is to use the budget talk

now they're using the debt ceiling to corner Democrats
Hindi shut down ng government, shut down nila yung compromise with the waiver. I'm still trying to find the video...

Edit: alam ko na hindi kaya abolish yung law or compromise because it's the law of the land. Para matapos na, surrender na nga ako sa compromise but republicans have to do something to lessen the burden of the law.

Obama amended 17 times AFTER it was approved. Which is not allowed and they call republicans irresponsible when they wanted to amend the 1.

Obama gave waivers to big corporations, but can't extend that to its citizens.

Obama does not and will not talk to republicans.

Let's go over the electronic billboard again. Ganito compromise ng Republicans:

    1. Remove billboard or we don't sign the budget. (remember: the Billboard fund does NOT come from the marketing budget)

    2. Don't use the billboard or we don't sign the budget.

    Compromise? Sige.

    3. Don't make the employees work on the billboard, or we don't sign the budget.

Gets? None of the crap funded by the Federal budget has anything to do with Obamacare. The Republican Tea Party is okay with shutting down the government and risking a global financial crisis because they think the public is stupid enough to blame the President.

All they're doing, really, is ensuring there will not be a Republican in the White House next election, and that they will never, ever have the majority in Congress or the Senate again.
Hindi ba si Obama yung nagsabi.... I would talk to Syria and Iran but not the republicans. Isn't that irresponsible? Your are the leader of your nation and ayaw mo makipagusap until makuha mo yung gusto mo.

I get your point seem that don't get mine... To end the war, compromise na nga yung republicans with waivers. Iba tayo sa opinion... Yung nag shutdown na yung government, republicans try to talk to democrats to fund this and fund that but the Democrats outright rejected everything.

Pero sa totoo lang I wish they should have just let it pass and see it crumble to the ground. Let the Democrats accept all the blame. Republicans just want to minimize the damage it will bring.

you used the terrn "shut down" in a thread about US govt shutdown but you're not referring to govt shutdown

    nakakalito dude

pwede naman po gumamit ng ibang term

Obama does not and will not talk to republicans.
Obama won't talk with them if they don't pass a budget

    pass a budget first

    reopen the govt

    then they'll talk

    Sorry if nakakalito yung statement.

At first, I was also with the Democrats on the matter that it is the law and there should be no compromise but when I hear the side of the republicans vs the side of Democrats, I then shifted to what the republicans have to say.

I'm not trying to spin this, just look at what Obama did.

amend Obamacare 17 times AFTER it was passed.

Gave out waivers to big corporations. (the law of one is the law of all). After all pinaglalaban niyo is "its the law of the land".

Your trying to say na republicans have all the fault but ask yourself why did he did all that?

Edit: o ya, Obama should act like a leader and talk. It's really irresponsible for him not to do so.

It's a standoff talaga. The polls show how mad the people are. Obama is nearing the high 30's approval rating and republicans at the mid 20's approval rating.

    i'm not interested in Obamacare

my area of interest is global macro

anything that affects global markets appear on my radar

the US budget talk appeared on my radar in late August coz of the potential of US govt shutdown

US govt shutdown can affect global markets

    i posted this Sept 1

there's the Fed decision on reduction of bond purchases

    there's the August jobs report

there's the US budget (there are 2 upcoming budget fights. the first will be this month where Congress must pass legislation to continue funding the government. if there's no "continuing resolution" the US govt will shut down. the second will be next month where the US Treasury must get approval from Congress to raise the borrowing limit. if the limit isnt raised the US govt will default)

there's the nomination of the next Fed chairman
the details of Obamacare do not interest me

i'm not going to debate about the details of Obamacare

what interests me is what's going on now in US politics specially the debt ceiling

coz not raising the debt ceiling is the biggest global macro risk ever
