    You can try chipping out stirrup where you can hook up your dowel. Normal concrete cover for column is only 40-50mm.

    Pwede naman yung sa hilti gaya ng sinbi ni travs pero yung sakin dun ka lng nmn sa stirrups kakapit. As long na hindi mo naman chipping yung inner core ng column mo. Ano po pala sir ang size ng column mo?

    30x30 ang stirrups at 40x40 ang with concrete cover, medyo napalaki ata Sir Max for a 2 storey house with 85 sqm area per floor?

    I wonder how long exposed rebars underground will rust enough to do damage to footings and columns. There was an instance that I saw a misplaced dowel for tie beam, where it was not needed so I had it covered with concrete. Now I'm paranoid that there may be others that have just been buried without my knowledge.

    Dowel alone will not rust and compromise your footings and columns. If your contractor follow proper procedure and structural specifications, there no reason for concern.
