At the height of the ECQ, people at my daughter's company requested for meralco subsidy as they were working from home. The answer? Ang India nga hindi nag rerequest!

Fakc these managers who instead of making a request, took advantage of the situation to look good by recommending miniscule savings just to look good themselves. This company is not in distress, they are in fact expanding.

Really depends upon management or the owners.

[emoji3526]

Una halaman ko sya from seeds.

How does that compare with the increases you gave your direct reports?

I always feel bad when I get a higher increase compared to my team when it’s always a team effort, so I always push to max out the increases possible for my direct reports as well.

In my current work, all my direct reports are in India and have no direct control over their renumeration. I can only provide feedback to their immediate managers. In my previous job back home in Manila, I did have direct input which team members got the bigger slice of the increase and bonus pie. I always tried to give the hardest workers the best percentage that I can defend in the renumeration meetings. Don’t feel bad if you get a higher increase. A good team also needs a good leader.
