Once you're driving around in your restored mini...ask the same people who discouraged you how it feels to watch you driving away in your dream.

tama k jan papa ramir! a friend of mine said to me that restoring a mini is another form of socializing, gives you inspiration(or frustrations sometimes),and the reaction you get from driving your restored mini around the block....phew! you wont get that second look if your driving a modern car not unless of corz a ferrari...

hi kevin, don't be discouraged from your mini project based on what people say. ultimately its your choice dapat. obviously if you are a newbie into minis as you say then i would suggest not to get a real classic mini as in mk3 down to mk1. it would be better to get something that is a bit modern maybe 1988 up models. It will cost a lot of money and time to properly restore an old mini, just as with any classic car. a newer one you just need to fix whats broken. for me kasi when you say restoration its basically replacing or fixing everything on the car, the cost will probably be more than getting a newer super kinis mini na. but if you feel you are up to the challenge then good for you. i personally dream of having a mk1 mini complete with the sliding windows and exposed hinges, but i don't have the time nor the monetary resources to under take such a task.

it is true later models feels better than the older ones due improvements done on the mini thru the years. it feels more japanese (normal) car than the older ones. i used to own and race a mk3 mini and now own a 1990 model and the new one feels a lot more comfortable than the old. but the older handles better.

Kung talagang clutch lang ang gagawin, clutch disc, pressure plate or release bearing minimal work lang ito dahil pwede ng di tanggalin ang engine (engine in-car repair)

tnx for the encouragement papa ramir, poknat, miniracer, rey rya! I needed that. Papa ramir, ur message hit me most! You're right, we should not allow other people to control our dreams! Thanks so much, problem with me, sometimes, I get too affected with what other people want to say.

Anyway, i agree with you miniracer. Since I'm a newbie, I think I prefer a restored project. From there, I would just improve on the car.

So, any good condition mini up for sale? I'm interested. I prefer a mini that is restored or maintained to it's original form... as if it was rolled out of the showroom.
