Hi to all you mini fanatics
.
I would like to ask for help regarding w/c mini project to do. I have 3 plans, my 1st choice is an MK1 restoration, my 2nd choice is to make a woody traveller, and my 3rd and last choice is to get an MK2/MK3 and retro it to look like an MK1. All are pretty ambitious projects for me but I really like the challenge especially in making my mini a daily driver (considering the cost of gasoline nowadays). I would prefer to build from scratch than buy a fully restored one, just to make sure I get all the things I want in the project.
So that's it, I hope you guys could help me decide. Thanks.

Yes sir. May MK1 shell na nga ako e since January, kaso had to sell it last June dahil sobra laki gastos pag yun ang gamitin ko.
More on classics ang gusto ko na look. Mini mo ba yung avatar mo? sorry ha bago lang ako dito sa forum. Ganda a.
So, what do you think? alin kaya direction ko. As I see it, doing a retro would be easiest, going for a woody traveler is really unique, and looking for an MK1 for restoration would be hard to find.
Nice to see you here

Good to know na magbubuo ka na. Retro would be unique at medyo iilan lang ang meron.
Samin (duday, olive & conrad) set up namin puro sports pack.

If you're on for a challenge, want to be really unique, and you mentioned your cousin in Italy will help you... maybe you can consider restoring an Innocenti Cooper. (At least the only one I would know of...)

Thanks Mr. Kamoteman. Actually doing a Retro is my last option coz its easier to do but doing a real classic for me might be more worth the time and money. Well, kanya-kanyang taste naman yan e, pero I think it would stay as the last option.
Thanks uli

Thanks Sir Esarc for entertaining my request. My cousin also told me bout the innocenti coz he has also done a '72 restoration which he failed to finish due to budget problems, maybe because he was doing the original innocenti and not the export version. Yun original yata yung may black na mustache grill? i'm not sure, but I know it has the same doors with the australian MK1 mini, yung my quarter window, tama ba? hehe sorry di ko talaga kabisado yun. But you know I think you are right
, I'll try to source the parts from my cousin and see if its feasible.
Thank you sir for your help.

August 12th, 2006 11:14 PM #8Di ko din kabisado. There are also several variants of innocenti. Check mo na lang 'to if you're curious enough...->

During his term here with ILO, a German friend brought in his innocenti. Except for the the color (his was green w/ balck interior), rims and hubcaps (which was suppose to bear the innocenti logo), everything else in the link was exactly what my friend brought in. Take note of the grille, lamp rims, side markers, bootlid, front & rear badges & interior trims. Being an expat, he loved to see the country. He said he was able to bring his car as far as pagudpud in the north, down to port of matnog in the south. His car was not as good looking as the one in the link, but when I took it for a spin, man! wasn't it a good ride!
So much for innocenti... just f.y.i. and everyone else'.
