Hindi siya mayaman, he was a refugee, buong family niya naiwan. He studied college here, hindi naman sa top tier University. Even his house (na naabutan ko) simple lang parang townhouse ata.

iba pa ata yung ads na pinanood sa views lang. Nabasa ko sa isang forum na I lurk minsan, 200k subs lang pwede na pala mag demand ng rates, like full video on the brand 35k, imagine magkano rate ng mga 500k subs to millions

    i don't know din

but if the incentive isn't there, why would creators bother?

there must be something driving creators

Youtube's parent company Alphabet Inc has 100 billion USD in cash / 950B USD market capitalization

they can easily afford to turn some very poor pinoys into peso millionaires

MLM iba naman sa Youtube, sa YT you get paid for your views, no networking or deception there. Saka yun nga, once a youtuber becomes big, they get sponsorships and freebies na. May napanood ako mga beauty vloggers are gifted designer handbags (worth at least 6 digits) or jewelry by company owners. Parang naisip ko nga nagiging manhid na sila sa dami ng regalo that they get. They also get treated like celebrities, may mall shows din sila

i think the basic driving force is, "they like to do those things".
    everything else is incidental.

Also, he is practically a fresh grad, so he is still starting out, hindi naman siya level ni Locsin, Manosa or Calma na sobrang sikat

PINOY ARCHITECT REACTS TO LLOYD CADENA'S HOUSE - YouTube

Yung 500K subscribers sa tagalog account niya in 3 days lang niya nakuha and his first video got a million views in less than a week. Something na hindi narating ng English format account niya dati. Goes to say what kind of YouTube audience ang marami sa Pinas and the content they want to see.

But I agree hindi nangyayari this kind of success all the time. Dami pinoy architect reaction videos di naman nagpick up.

does the number of subscribers / hits translate very roughly to how much money the vlogger eventually gets paid?

How could that be e these vloggers show the tons of package they receive at binubuksan pa sa harap ng cam (they call it PR haul) Brands do take the time to send these vloggers their products, ganda pa ng packaging.

Before he did the reaction wala siya halos views, now millions na pag upload. Yung isang channel matagal na pero yung tagalog ang mas popular
