October 5th, 2020 12:18 AM #62Good evening po sir. Ang 2018 CX-9 ba ay same engine ng 2019 - 2020 models?
I am planning to buy a Pajero sana kaya lang ang downside ay ititigil na ang production kaya i am having 2nd thought kung tutuloy pa ba ako sa Pajero. If not Pajero i am leaning on Ford Explorer or Mazda CX-9.
Ano po ang comment niyo sa CX-9 niyo please?
I would highly appreciate if you can share it with me sana to help me decide kung worth buying ba ang CX-9.
Salamat ng marami.

Yes, the same 2.5 Skyactiv turbo since 2018. A bud swapped his migraine-source e46M3 for a 2016 Mazda 3, then for a CX9 when it came out. He's loving the badge & the car much. Trouble-free ownership, he says. 1 car for everything. It may not be as butt-roomy nor off-road capable as the Pajero, but gets the job done... & is cheaper to own than an Explorer longterm.

Just like a movie ... Highly praised by critics ... but nobody's buying ... it's simply impractical for it's intended market ... few buyers = few parts availability ...
Ford Explorer discount 500T ... but there's already a new model ...
If in doubt ... get one of the top sellers in a segment ... there's a reason why they sell well ... unless you have lots of money then buy whatever you want ...Last edited by Walter; October 5th, 2020 at 08:42 AM.

October 5th, 2020 09:26 PM #66Salamat ng marami sir sa message mo. May nakita nga ako dito sa Batangas City 2020 CX-9 machine grey yata ang term sa color na yun, what can i say maganda siya sa you tube pero its not enough to describe how beautiful this car is sa malapitan at ang laki pala nito sir.
Yun nga lang sabi ni sir Walter yung availability ng parts ang downside nito baka sakit ng ulo ito in the long run.
Anyway salamat ng marami. Naghihintay lang ako na maging normal ang situation natin due to this pandemic saka ako siguro kukuha ng unit

If you like the car, go get it and take care of it. Don’t bother asking the opinion of others as it is your money you’ll be spending. The most important thing is that you enjoy driving the car.

October 5th, 2020 10:14 PM #68Sir, gawa ka ng checklist sa requirements mo... surely it will help on which car you will get...
Your car, your preference...
- space (ford)
- parts availability (mazda)
- power (depends on the driver)
- looks (mazda)
-etc...and so on....
Kasi dalawa lang yan pinagpilian mo so mas madali lang...

Well, if you just need a 5-seater midsize crossover SUV, there is the Subaru Outback. The local model does not have a turbo engine but a 6-cylinder boxer engine rated at 256hp/350Nm.
Subaru might soon be bringing locally their 7-seater Ascent with a 2.4L turbo engine (260hp/375Nm). It also belong in the same category as the CX9 and Explorer.

I had the current body Pajero before.
Driven the Ford Explorer for more than a week in a rental in the US.
Currently, I have the 2018 CX9.
If you will occasionally use your car for offroading, then hands down get the Pajero.
If not, then among the 3, my choice will be CX9 > Explorer > Pajero.Signature
