for someone who's buying a vehicle in the range of 2.5 to 2.7 million pesos, a 200K difference doesn't mean that much to them.
plus at 2.7M, name any other vehicle that can match the hp & torque output of the veracruz. the murano with a 3.5L v6? nah...

Who pays a Hyundai worth 2.7M????
Consider this... The Azera, better than the Camry, but priced like a Camry, The Pinoy will never buy the Azera and will choose the Camry.
The Vera Cruz, better than the Pajero, Murano, & Pilot, but priced HIGHER than the 3, the Pinoy will never buy the VC and will choose among the 3 japs...
Morale of the story: For Hyundai to be noticed, it should TRY to price their products BELOW their competitors... As a late comer in the market, it should try to UNDERCUT its competitors to get noticed!

dude im sure this is what they wanna do, but due to the higher tax being imposed by our government, they can't do anything at all but give in.
this is what was said about the Santa Fe after it was launched mid-2006, that it was overpriced for a korean car, nanaahhh.....but still, people who know bought it and are happy owners of the car.
same as the future owners of VC, they surely will realize that they're driving a P4.0-5.0Million SUV (likes of X5, Toureg, Cayenne, etc) for only 2.8M

honestly, i feel it's too over priced. for the price, i'll just get a patrol, pajero or a prado. same pricing na kasi. better resale value pa when it's time to sell. but i feel if the hyundai weret o be priced at 2.2m max, it would really sell.
even better if it was at 2m....ubos yan sigurado.

Tama ka dyan,so far nangyari narin yan sa Accent at Elantra(forget the Coupe, the reason why that one is not selling well ay dahil A/T lang sya....)...
Azera is a good Camry alternative but look at what HARI done.....Overpriced...I think the Veracruz will surely suffer the same fate but I hope that wouldn't happen...Nung nasa show ako for the past four days eh akala ng mga nandun eh nasa 2M lang to eh nung nalaman nilang 2.7M eh nagulat na....

How can I disagree? My cousin who is based in Cebu just called me today and he told me that it is now displayed in the Cebu showroom. Out of curiuosity he went there to have a look and he himself was awed how the Vera Cruz was in the flesh. When he asked the sales rep. about the price he was shocked to hear the 2.8M but the lone car was already reserved. Yon pala ang nag reserve- yong relative ng dealer.
He too felt it was overpriced. May isa lang cyang tanong na hindi ko masagot because now he is attracted to the Sta. Fe. Sabi nya, papaano ba malaman na VGT ang unit? What are the physicals to look for? Anyone here?
Biniro ko na lang pinsan ko na for Hyundai: Ask for the Vera Fe kung wala, ask for the Sta. Cruz.

usually new units that are displayed are like hotcakes, but it all boils down to numbers...i hope that i am wrong but honestly, it won't sell im sure. look at the honda pilot....2.5m and it still not selling....honda na yan ha.....opinion ko lang po ito...let's just wait and see nalang.

April 9th, 2007 10:29 PM #200i too agree that its damn expensive. even if we ignore the badge overpriced pa rin... i think its incomparable to the real luxury suvs like the x5, ML, cayenne. 2.8m is not freakin bargain. but for 2.7 or 2.8m im going prado or pajero any day or a used 3.0d x5 that i saw for 2.7m.kung 2.0 to 2.2m baka may bumili pa.
